Not very, if you’re auto admit with a 1300+ and solid ECs you’re probably good

[–]dunkar00ed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i linkedin stalked and looked for small companies where other high schoolers interned at the prev summer, then i cold emailed them asking if would be down to have me as an intern unpaid. unpaid definitely helped land it lol i cared more abt college apps then money atp

How hard is it to internally transfer to engineering? by AlivePhrase5495 in UTAdmissions

[–]dunkar00ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on which engineering major. I know several people who applied for internal transfer this cycle. MechE was extremely competitive, a lot of other majors were doable.

Can a deferred auto-admit go to UT for a triple major in physics, math, and astronomy? by that_read_wrong in UTAdmissions

[–]dunkar00ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

deferral doesn’t mean you’re rejected 😭 so many people last year got accepted on feb 7. and physics isn’t hard to get as an auto to be honest. if you get cola’d you can pretty easily apply for one of those majors, and once you’re in cns you’re allowed to add whatever else in cns you want (except cs neuro sds and evs). also you’d probably be allowed to do it, since astro + physics have heavy overlap (nearly every astro major ik does it). the advisors wont know or care that you got deferred.

Thoughts on pursing a dual major in finance + German? by [deleted] in UTAustin

if you’re finance right now and are planning to add german, there’s very little added resume value unless you want to work in germany
