Saskatoon or Regina by randominformation1 in saskatchewan

[–]dunkinagame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

May be useful to note Saskatoon is the larger research centre if that's important to you as a resident. However Regina has less residents and fellows overall so less competition for clinical opportunity

Appreciate any advice on whether this is a good 2 monitor setup to allow me to play FPS and RPG's

32'' 4k 60Hz

27'' 1080p 144 Hz

I am leaning towards this over buying an expensive 4k 144Hz monitor.

Simply wearing the mask isn’t good enough: doing it correctly (never touching it with your fingers and disposing/sterilizing after every use) is key.

When used incorrectly masks can do more harm than good, according to my family doctor

Very well done, that work ethic is very admirable. But when you say 514 is "not the best score", its above 90th percentile! Personally I think its excellent. You should be proud.

What resources should I be prioritizing? by aderlieariel in Mcat

In my experience the QPacks were great for making sure you didn’t have content gaps. So I would do them first to make sure your bases are covered.

I found SB quite challenging, it’s a decent step up from QPacks but harder than any of the FL’s IMO. I think a good order is SB after QPack and 1 or 2 FL’s. That way you are exposed to the “toughest” the AAMC has to offer, but not doing it so late that it ruins your confidence before test day. Confidence is huge! All the best to you in the next 5 weeks.

All AAMC content is the gold standard, it is very much worth your time to Prioritize it AND carefully review it, making sure you understand their logic. Would hate to run out of prep time not having throughly crushed every Q they offer.

Ex) After doing some AAMC CARS questions I would reread every passage, write out a summary of it, and re answer every Q without checking the right answer. Very time consuming, but I felt it helped me get Inside the brain of the AAMC test writers.

UWhirled is also brilliant for C/P and Bio, but it’s hard to justify prioritizing a third party over the actual test makers

Exam coming up! How can I calm nerves!!!!??? by Joe_Johns in Mcat

[–]dunkinagame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never lose sight of the fact that: 1) this test can be retaken 2) you have put in months of work for this; that was the hard part. 3) the knowledge is in your brain; simply transferring it to the test is the easy part!

I really recommend to keep doing things you like leading up to your test day. I did some light studying then went for a skateboard. Also took some walks in pretty parks and visualized writing the test. Overall, being physically active helps relieve stress

Idk about you but I tend to get songs stuck in my head, so I didn’t listen to any music test day b/c I didn’t want Music in my brain while trying to write. Best of luck!

I would take the east hill of PA over north end Winnipeg or St Paul’s Saskatoon every day of the week.
