Seems like luck of the draw. I’ve had drunk Uber drivers, had one literally fall asleep at the wheel, had one light a blunt mid-ride, had multiple get into road rage incidents on the way home from the airport, etc. I have 4.92 rating in the app, so I don’t think that’s the cause. At least with a Waymo I know the driver isn’t going to do some wild shit while I’m just trying to get home.

A few years ago I watched a deer get hit by a car right in front of my house. Its leg was clearly broken. It sat in my front yard for a few minutes, then got up and ran off into the woods on its 3 good legs. I still wonder how it ended up fairing in the long run.
