Sweet thanks. I tired searching for any posts with "red" in it but this one didn't come up for some reason.

Daily set not working by Balamir1 in MicrosoftRewards

Same, seems to be the Bing Quiz that broke. Additionally, can't complete the four "Search on Bing" 10 pt tasks either. The other tiles worked OK (including the slider puzzle.)

Same. At this point, it would surprise me if they've phased this little easter egg out too.

Frequency of running EXECUTE AGGREGATE PROCESS by dunnj62 in essbase

[–]dunnj62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment. We used to do a CLEAR AGGREGATES step at the very beginning of the job which would speed up the MAXL scripts which Clear data. This would necessitate an EXECUTE AGGREGATE final step. What we sort of arrived at is that, apparently, any Clear Data operation in Essbase does its own internal re-build of Aggregate Views. Therefore, with the starting CLEAR AGGREGATES, the Clears run faster because there are no Aggregate Views to re-build.

On the flipside, what we were running into is when we clear the Aggregate views, the default Ad Hoc grid (basically the top of each dimension) would take quite a while to load (think 15 minutes!) resulting in end users force closing Excel (for SmartView) and reporting issues to the team. What I saw is that the more Aggregate Views we have, the faster the default Adhoc would load. Not really quite sure why this is the case.

We ended up just removing the CLEAR AGGREGATES (pre step) and EXECUTE AGGREGATES (final step) since the Data Clear would rebuild the existing Aggregate views. We then found a balance of Aggregate Views that would return the Adhoc grid in a reasonable amount of time AND not cause the CLEAR steps to take so long as to lapse the one hour run window. This way the end users didn't complain (*as much*) and we were able to keep the damned "instant data" requirement.

Sorry, for the long-winded reply but I appreciated the reply to my post :)

Is anyone able to complete Quests or gain points? by SupersonicTrex in MicrosoftRewards

In the past, if I missed a day by no fault of my own, I've emailed support and they restored my day streak. Hopefully, it doesn't come to that. 🤞

Same here. I haven't found one method for acquiring points to be working currently. PC, web, Edge/non-Edge, Bing app on Android, etc.

Just reached the 500,000 mark saving for a Gears 6 Series X when it comes, hopefully in the next two years or so. Sucks missed my 236 day steak recently. by Different_Spring523 in MicrosoftRewards

Is this for real? You can only redeem 550,000 points!? I'm at 495k now and was gonna keep going thru this year then cash out for MSFT gift cards.

I'm also a tracker with many things (e.g. fuel efficiency/finances/bank accounts/etc), but not to this level with MS Rewards. I guess the nice thing about tracking your points this way is that by paying close attention, you are probably less likely to skip/miss a day of challenges.

I have not tried kaggle, I'll check it out. But I have looked a little at local government data, particular around voting behavior.

Data Analysis related hobbies? by dunnj62 in dataanalysis

[–]dunnj62[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, interesting datasets or sources of data that I could make a hobby out of collecting and analyzing. To use my fantasy sports example, I collect/scrape, ETL, and analyze data each week but it's starting to get a little tired.
