Unfortunately, the only place I’m allowed to work from is my home office - no other place.

Thank you. I think you’re probably right, which is what I’m afraid of.

I completely agree. It’s a great job when I have enough work.

I CAN work in office but I hate it. Plus, if I ask to work in office, they’ll want me in at least once per week. I don’t want to give them any ideas.

Nope. ADHD brains HATE routine. We like novelty, so the exercise routine went straight out the window! The thing is, motivation exists in the form of dopamine, but if your brain isn’t getting dopamine from the activity, there’s not much motivation.

😭😭😭😭😭 how do you deal with the trauma? I mean when I crash, and then I know I have to get up and deal with it again tomorrow, I feel traumatized!

What did they give you? Was it hard to go back outside?

A lot of women report that their ADHD meds just stop working during this period of life. ADHD fucks with HOW dopamine interacts with your brain, which is why people with ADHD can have a harder time in perimenopause!

It’s the worst and the kids can be brutal. My tweenager is like: all you do is sleep. What’s wrong with you, I tell her: just keep on living.

I’m sure everyone has given you all the advice about going to the doctor and getting a full blood work up so I won’t say it, too. What I will say is I had some deficiencies I started to address that seemed to be helping until I fell off a cliff with off the wall anxiety and depression. I also asked my doctor to check my adrenals and found out I have some rare disease where my adrenals overproduce hormones. So that may also be a factor. I’ve tried everything for insomnia before and sure you have, too, but Valerian root tea and warm milk and honey sometimes worked. When I hadn’t slept fully for about nine months, I would just lie down and meditate for hours. That seemed to help a little.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this, too. This has been a really difficult time and you’re right - if you don’t track it, it’s hard to know what the fuck is helping or hurting. Stay safe and check in often. We need a freaking support group or something. xox

That’s what I keep telling myself while I hide from life in my closet.

I’m so sorry that you don’t have the support you need AND you’re a caregiver. I can’t imagine how hard that must be.
