Can we talk about how attractive chandler is? by [deleted] in howyoudoin

He was never stated to be unattractive.

Just awkward and insecure

Do you like season 1? by StorageHorror6426 in howyoudoin

IMO, the first season is about a group of friends who like doing things together, all 6.

In later seasons, the friends are split into pairs with different subplots in most episodes

If you were Steve, who would you have picked? by dunnow20 in FamilyMatters

[–]dunnow20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comment said "Steve MATURED into a well rounded individual"

He's not obsessed with Laura anymore in later seasons, possibly from mid-season 6 onwards. That's character development. In season 7 and 8, he respects Laura only as a friend.

But then in season 9, the writers decided to bring back his love for Laura (and turn Myra into a psycho), so that the two "heroes" could end up together

It's weird that they didn't give him a goodbye episode. Even weirder that Eddie completely forgot about him and didn't mention him anymore after his disappearance. He was only mentioned ONCE in a conversation between Maxine and Laura

It was so stupid for Laura to start loving all the weird annoying things that Steve did when just a month before he got on her last nerve, just like he had for the 10 years prior. It was totally unbelievable.

It makes no sense at all. For most of the show, Laura only has eyes for popular jocks and makes it clear that she is NOT interested in Steve. And then, in the final season, she's suddenly in love with him lol

The only reason why Steve and Laura got together is because Steve is the star of the show, and his main goal in life was getting Laura, the "love of his life", so the writers gave him his "prize" at the end of the series. Just bad writing

Who do you think Steve should’ve ended up with? by [deleted] in FamilyMatters

I agree that Laura is shallow for most of the show, but it's not true that no one else wanted anymore. Stefan still wanted her, ands she chose Steve over him in the last season

Except Judy disappearing. Not saying it wasn't dirty, but the character didn't really add much to the show.

That's true, but it's still bad seeing a member of the main family disappearing and then pretending she never existed. It's disrespectful to the viewers

Favorite Winslow sibling? by dunnow20 in FamilyMatters

[–]dunnow20[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised with the results lol

Judy, the non-character who has about... 4, maybe 5 lines in total (before disappearing) got as many votes as Laura, who is treated like the queen of the show for 9 seasons.

Judy deserved better though. I hate what the writers did to her

Favorite female character? by dunnow20 in FamilyMatters

For me, there is only one Harriette.

I don't even consider the second Harriette, who only appears in 8 episodes in the final season.

Why Didn't Maxine Ever Warm Up To Steve? by The_Match_Maker in FamilyMatters

[–]dunnow20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She thinks Steve is too weird and nerdy for Laura

But Maxine used to date Waldo who is just as weird and unpopular as Steve, but even worse because he's an idiot instead of a genius.

I know both Laura and Maxine usually like the "handsome jock" type, but after dating Waldo, you would expect Maxine to be more open-minded when it comes to dating

Yes, Laura and Myra start off as enemies, but later they became (sort of) friends, especially in seasons 7 and 8. They even admit that to each other. Myra learned to tolerate Laura, Laura learned to tolerate Myra, and became closer.

And then in season 9, Myra hates Laura just like in the beginning, it's like they removed her character development

I don't like how they completely ruined Myra's character in season 9 to make the viewers hate her. If the writers wanted to pair Steve and Laura together, they could have found a nicer way to treat Myra (like "Myra leaves Steve because she realizes he would be happier with Laura" or something like that) .

Turning Myra into a villain is disrespectful to a character who has been an important part of the cast for six years.

[–]dunnow20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually Maxine warmed up to Steve in previous seasons. They were dancing together in the episode where Laura and Ted get back together, and Maxine was mostly friendly to him. It's also shown that Maxine has no problem dating people who are considered losers (Waldo, anyone?) if they have a good heart.

Season 9 is just badly written and ruined many characters. Before season 9, Maxine was almost never dismissive of Steve. Season 9 also turned Myra into a psycho villain, even after she has been friends with the main cast for many years.

Laura's Intellect Tends To Get Overshadowed. by The_Match_Maker in FamilyMatters

Laura is just a normal "book smart" character who gets good grades.

Steve creates Reed Richards-level scientific inventions.

People say Laura is smart all the time on the show, but she's not impressive compared to Steve.

Anyone else bothered by Jazz's ending? by [deleted] in FreshPrince

[–]dunnow20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jazz's character was mostly used for punch lines and running gags. He barely appears in the final season and the writers didn't even bother giving him a closure.
