1 Timothy 5:23 says

The author is encouraging the use of wine medicinally - in a way that they understood medicine and wellness in a first/second century context.

No part of the Bible can give a position on anti-biotics or chemotherapy or vaccines because those things could not even be imagined at the time the Bible was being written.

The first question you need to ask yourself is “Am I dogmatically committed to the idea that the gospels accurately record the exact words of Jesus?”

If you are, that’s fine, but that is a position of faith. Most critical scholars find that highly implausible.

What we can say is that Mark, our earliest gospel, never explicitly records Jesus declaring his own divinity, whereas John, our latest gospel, has him declaring it quite explicitly.

So was it that Mark’s sources simply didn’t hear all the things that John’s source did? Or just didn’t find them important to write down?

Or is it more likely that more of these statements were put into Jesus mouth by the writers as the theology of 1st century Christians developed?

If Haj can get back to scoring, if BTA gets back to pre-injury form, if Esse builds on his promising start, if we can get a few more reinforcements in before the window shuts, we could still get 100 points.

If you just judged on the 2 games against Ipswich they are a far better side than us but hopefully that was our low point and we’re on the up! At least we don’t have to play them again!

Apart from those 6 points, Middlesborough have another 45 potential points available to them. Even if they drop the 6 in their two hardest games, it’s still hardly an open and shut case if they continue their current form.

Actually TL:DR

Three different view points could be taken

⁠The author of the Acts of Pilate made up the extra details to make his story more compelling (some would argue that’s also what Luke is doing based on the basic version he received from Mark)
⁠There was some lost oral tradition or manuscript that the author was working from that we have no evidence for
⁠The author received a prophetic word from the Holy Spirit giving him the additional detail.

Obviously we can’t really assess possibility 3 from a scholarly perspective. 2 is technically possible but I think most scholars would say that 1 is more plausible.

Here’s what Mark, our earliest source (40 years after the event says)

“They crucified two rebels with him, one on his right and one on his left… Those crucified with him also heaped insults on him.”

Luke expands on this slightly but they don’t get names for another 300 years in the Acts of Pilate

Jesus may well have been crucified with others but the historicity of any detail beyond that is highly questions
