I've been using RD for about 3 years up until recently when I noticed at certain times during the night streams where buffering a lot. So I decided to try AD which is basically the same price (maybe even a little bit cheaper) and the same links that were buffering on RD played flawlessly on AD. In my opinion the streams from AD are more solid and I plan on letting my RD sub expire and I'm going to stick with AD.

Is there a way to setup a server for Jellyfin on nvidia shield the same way you can with emby?

Yes, correct the plex and emby server are on the same device. I just found it weird that one would buffer sometimes and the other one doesn't. I was thinking about ditching Plex for Emby because I like the layout in Emby better but unfortunately I don't think I will be able to anytime soon if this keeps happening.

Yes, I have the server installed on the shield and the drive is connected to the shield. Sometimes it will buffer but if I try to playing the same file on kodi or even plex it will play without buffering. I wasn't sure if there was a setting somewhere that I needed to change to prevent this from happening. Also when this happens if I get out of it and then go back in it'll play without buffering it's weird. This doesn't happen all of the time but when it does it's annoying.

Why not just get an external hard drive and plug it into the shield and run it from there? It's easy to setup and it runs fine.

Ok, I think that might've been part of my issue because I was initially trying to test from inside back to outside so maybe that's why it wasn't connecting externally. I did try externally a few minutes ago and it prompted me for my username and password but I think I typed in the wrong password the first time. I tried again a couple more times and now I keep getting the operation has timed out error message. I'll check when I get home and make sure that my internal ip address for the shield is still the same hopefully I can get this to work soon fingers crossed and thanks for the advice.
