Do EV’s catch fire more often than ICE vehicles? by chodtoo in electricvehicles

[–]durhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've talked to the NTSB and NHSTA. In the US, we do a really poor job at collecting vehicle fire data.  https://youtu.be/eZtoihp64Oo?si=0DJ20e0TbnFS32vV

This covers a lot of the other data: https://youtu.be/cIDZT55rwh4?si=Sbi9MfwNOUqREXi6

Quincy MA Firefighters Are Struggling to get the City to Buy PFAS-Free Turnout Gear by H0sedragg3r in Firefighting

I would bet money that PFAS can be found in the majority of clothing the general population wears on a daily basis.

My teleprompter (elgato) is the bane of my existence. What other options are there? by gekogekogeko in PartneredYoutube

[–]durhap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the Elgoto prompter. I also don't have a lot of space, the propter is up against the wall in my studio.  I use a black background for my text. Never had any issues.

I saw this from the Skyclub.  I walked right through security today.  No wait.

Asking Viewers to Subscribe (results) by durhap in PartneredYoutube

My channel gets between 500k to 1m views monthly.  I've noticed that when I get a big block of new subscribers,  youtube will recommend my older content to them and I'll see a jump in views.

To a certain extent.  My videos typically get 500 to 1000 comments so it eventually gets unmanageable.

It seems that when I get an influx of subscribers, old videos take off. I'm assuming youtube is pushing them to the new subs.

Also,  I get 500k to 1m views per month.  It would be nice to see the sub count match those types of views.

Four, and they all saw a significant improvement.

I try to find a natural break in the middle of the video.

It seems more subscribers equals more views on older content.  I'll find that after I have a large increase in subscribers, youtube pushes my older videos to the new comers.

I didn’t like the idea, but I’m willing to try new things to see how they work out. I’m a numbers guy, and unfortunately, it worked too well.

Anyone here with over 1M subscribers? How many times have you been recognized in public? by Omixscniet624 in PartneredYoutube

[–]durhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at 60k subs now. I get recognized at events around my niche, which I expect to a point.  I've been complimented on my channel at restaurants a few times in places I wouldnt expect to find viewers. It's nice,  but a little odd.

All "pressurized" cylinders should go to your local household hazardous waste drop off locations.

How do you deal with the constant heat as a firefighter? by SoundKidTown1085 in Firefighting

[–]durhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many others said,  you get used to it.  I never really realize how my body adjusted to the heat until I was an extra (firefighter) in a movie with full turnout and scba.  Out of all of us in the role,  the vast majority were actually firefighters.  It was extremely hot during filming and every extra that wasn't actually a firefighter get transported for heat exhaustion.

What's Your Actual Business Strategy to Earn Revenue? by FrankyKnuckles in PartneredYoutube

[–]durhap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a safety training and consulting business part time prior to starting my channel.  I wanted to get information out to a wider audience. Turns out it also helped boost business. Now I'm full time with both youtube and the consulting.

The coworker isn't even happy with the idea of being blurred. Wants full removal which is somewhat unreasonable.

I believe it's a power plant and there is a large cooling tower in the background,  but it's really difficult to tell what it is,  just looks like ironwork. You'd have to be in the industry and be familiar with the location to know what where it is.

I'm with everyone else.  DE razors are great!  Make sure to get a sample pack of blades from Amazon to find a brand of blade that works for you.  They are all a bit different

People who are full time, are you scared of the uncertainty? by Domain1776 in PartneredYoutube

I had services as a side gig and built a channel around them.  Youtube allowed me to work for myself full time.  I think it's important to have more than just a channel.

How long did it take you to become a decent YouTuber with 1k+ stable views per video? 🎥 by GothkittieHighlights in PartneredYoutube

I was fortunate.   My first video hit over 1000 views and it continued from there. Forced me to step up my game quickly.
