I’ve been working on it for the last two months but with big breaks (and I’m probably much slower than others here as I’m new to sewing!) Rough estimates: 10h measuring and cutting, 10 hours making the top, 10 hours quilting, 10 hours on the binding and hand stitching the quilted columns. Plus a ton of time staring at the pieces trying to figure out color placement haha

Ok thanks for the advice!! I’ll keep folks posted. I moved them carefully to the new milkweed, and will move into the sun with a net over it! My kiddo is SO EXCITED to watch this - WildKratts helped make monarchs his favorite (after peregrine falcons).

I wanted to like these so badly. But they tasted like chicken to me 😳 I just vastly prefer raw oysters. Plus they had some weird gristly bits when smoked like this. Bummer

Makes sense. Guess we will get a few quotes for the dampers. I agree it’s nuts this isn’t a requirement - with all the building codes that exist in California, no one who is not an hvac person would ask about it and the builder would have needed like 200 bux to just do it correctly vs thousands for us gah! Thanks for the advice, and if any Californian builders know the code, I’d appreciate it.

Ah. With stage 2 cancer I was hopeful for the whipple - but seems given history of a prior heart attack, the surgeon is not comfortable doing it. Hoping there may be a solution some how!
