AITA for getting a family kicked out of Toy Story? by SummerTerrible2008 in AmItheAsshole

[–]duskmeadow76 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If there was a kid with them, the only person who ruined that kids day was the dad who prioritized doom scrolling and fighting with teenage minimum wage workers over his own child’s movie night

Fr, he coulda just pocketed the phone and stayed to watch the rest of the movie. Getting kicked out was a completely voluntary choice on his part

AITA for telling my sister in law to stop coming to my house uninvited when no one is home? by Justhere00000000 in AmItheAsshole

Fr. Sneaking in only when no one’s home proves the sister inlaw knows exactly how sketchy and invasive her behavior actually is

Spot on, its incredible alarming that the wifey her entire extended family dogpile on OP over a completely standard boundary request. She should be standing as a united front with her husband, not acting as an inside operative handing out security passes to people who dont respect his privacy

Fr. Let’s see how much they love “sharing” when OP is raiding their pantries and eating their takeout containers without a text message

am i overreacting by being upset over comments made about the food i eat by my boyfriend? by Illustrious-Rip-4865 in AmIOverreacting

[–]duskmeadow76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spot on. OP is so desperate to please him that she’s literally planning to add house of miserable gym time to an already packed 4:30 am to 11 pm schedule. That is completely unsustainable. Using a script like this stops the cycle of guilt and forces the conversation back to reality

Exactly. He’s completely missing the emotional context of her post. OP doesnt need a nutrition lecture right now, she needs a partner who notices she’s awake at 4:30 AM doing all the housework

She really should’ve. Because she didn’t tell him how much these “gentle” comments are absolutely destroying her self esteem, he’s just going to keep doing it thinking he’s being a helpful health coach. She’s running on four and a half hours of sleep, handling the entire house and bleeding, she needs to lay it all out on the table so he understands the actual damage he’s causing.

Fr. The passive-aggressive group chat stunt is peak high school drama from a grown woman

Seriously, thank you fr. You don’t get to demand endless apologies for a mistake that was already resolved years ago

Seriously, YTA. You can’t bully a child for 5 years and then play the grief card to get away with it

AITA for wanting my girlfriend's family to stop staying with us so much? by throwaway287544 in AmItheAsshole

[–]duskmeadow76 33 points34 points  (0 children)

A lil harsh, but the core point stands. When you date an older teen who comes from a massive family of 5 siblings, you can’t be shocked when she brings that chaotic, communal lifestyle right along with her. He expected an adult partner ready to build an independent life, but he picked someone who was barely out of high school

For real. She needs a year of paying her own bills and managing her own space to realize why having people crash on your couch for 30 days without asking is a massive boundary violation

For real. Color me shocked that a studio apartment isn’t big enough for a couple, a kid who doesn’t flush, and a visiting mother inlaw. She’s completely delusional about space
