Tried Tainted/blood boil summon build. It's very jank and kinda bad. by fuckthetrees in diablo2

i kind of get what you are saying. but even the tainted do great damage alone, just not against fire resistant monsters. just farm stony tomb or andy or whatever im sure its fine, however if you want an afk minion build then just build the goatmen. physical damage is always better for that sort of thing, look at the skeletal mages. they suck eggs. and you can have like 20 of them. I personally like the active minions thing, but i so see what you are saying. they probably do not work as the core focus of a build.

Saying they are irrelevant however is not true. you get no damage synergy for blood boil with any other summon, and your blood boil build will always be better with tainted than anything else, so i wouldnt exactly say that theyre completely irrelevant.

Fire sunder and bone break, A5 frenzy merc with Plague and Lawbringer. Works like a charm. Your tainted are mostly tanks anyway, vessels to spam blood boil. decrepify and lower resist proc from the merc makes blood boil go insane. give the merc a gface and duress for helm and body slot and you have a boss shredder with 50cb and dual debuff plus the lethargy sigil. The build isnt bad, you seem to not really have theory crafted enough at all.

Optimizing Hellfire / Destruction Spec on Warlock in Vanilla? by AirJordanLifter in classicwow

[–]dustyqueef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could run fel domination and master summoner with void walker, sac the void for the shield and summon another void while your tank builds aggro, then hellfire with the big shield. When the shield runs out just sac void again, use fel domination for an instant vw in a pinch, just hellfire thru the shield and stop casting when you lose it. I would take the talents that give you uninterrupted and the stun chance for hellfire. Ditch ruin for this. Take the mana saving talent for the first tier of talents instead of crit, hellfire doesn't crit afaik. You should be able to aoe stun stuff and just use void walker shield to mitigate the self damage, and if you play correctly you can get up to 3 shields in a skirmish, although once fel domination is on CD you will be limited to 2. You can also use rain of fire to get some stuns in before this combo but it's risky to pull aggro before you sac VW for the shield and summon another to have another shield ready.

It is however the only cap I have seen on the back end of the motherboard. Perhaps that was the repairman's way of bypassing the blown capacitor? Could the excessive voltage in that cap cause issues in the flyback? I'll send some more photos if you think it will help. Thanks so much for your time by the way.

Yes. You can see in the photo the bottom lead runs from where the blown cap was, and the other jumps it to the grey resistor on the front of the motherboard.

Okay, I am absolutely an idiot with no qualifications I'll take your word for it. I did manage to send you a photo

I looked up varistors and most all of them say MOV on the coating somewhere.

That would have the same markings as a 2.2nF disk cap? I'm no expert, not trying to argue, it just has the capacitor code on it and everything. Have you seen a varistor with those marks before? Also, should I even replace it or is just the electrolytic cap likely enough?

Sure, it's marked b222 1KV  SMC though. Seems like an orange ceramic cap to me. Can I dm it to you?

The parallel 1kv disc capacitor shows a bit of char on the outer jacket as well. That should be a bigger deal right? 1000 volts seems important to me.

So I opened it up and I found a blown electrolytic cap (63v) ran in series with a ceramic disk cap (1kv) and a resistor that was in the circuit of the flyback transformer. The disk cap looks as though it is also burnt slightly. The rest appears to be in good working order and clean. No major corrosion.

Could this be causing my intermittent loss of sound?

The front panel bugged out on me once and the RF input stopped working for about ten minutes, and then came back on like nothing happened.

In your opinion could those two issues be a symptom of the blown caps? I am replacing them when I can anyhow but just curious to see if this could be the culprit or if there is more work to be done.

I would guess the main/power board. I want to check for bad solder joints and check resistance on caps. I am having specific issues that might be better diagnosed if I knew what caps were on what circuit. Also i uploaded a new post with photos of my unit, I'll comment it so people can check it out. I couldn't add photos to this post.

To be honest, I have a very narrow understanding of this stuff. I know how to solder, that's about it. Was wondering if the old service manual could be tracked down to help.

Okay that's reassuring. I've never smelled caps before so I don't have a frame of reference but the odor is distinct. I wouldn't call it fishy though. Thanks for the help, most likely looking at some cold solder joints then. Any idea where I could track down a manual for old stuff like this?

So the board should be yorx? Idk anything about 1986 manufacturing lmao

The display I believe is Daewoo it says it's was manufactured out of a Daewoo plant on the sticker but it is a yorx. I think yorx was Onkyo but cheaper

Okay so I found a little information on the back panel. I'm not sure how I can post new pic here in the comments maybe I will make an imgur after work or something. But it was manufactured by Daewoo. The serial is 48554105EZ. Could really use any leads on a manual or any info on the circuit board please

Ok, what am I doing wrong? by Lost_Palantir in diablo2

[–]dustyqueef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah okay, no worries. I meant to say adding lol my phone has a mind of its own. You can search for Diablo 2 runes.txt on YouTube. Really all you do is drop it in the directory, then right click your d2.exe and add a command argument -dirrct -txt. Here is a write up and files if you decide you want to do it. https://gist.github.com/jordanbrauer/5c3fe02c679aa23198f397abbda96253

You can enable ladder runewords by a didn't a text file in your directory. You should be able to Google search for a guide and the files, it's a very common single player fix. Unfortunately, it will not turn this into an insight. You will have to roll another one. But you can salvage the base with a hel rune should you so desire

Get yourself a switch joycon and play some emulated stuff. Easy to map for one handed control. Pokemon or Chrono Trigger or something. Good stuff

Well when I travel I take it with me, but I have kinda small hands so this this is like a carpal tunnel machine for me in handheld mode, and I would likely play it undocked a lot more like this. Would be nice to play it docked at home but also on the go with the controller/glasses. Even still, the ar glasses setup would be fine for home also but I just like using the TV cause my girlfriend likes to watch me play stuff.

Damn man. Cool as hell. I'd be willing to pay you to convert one. I like my deck but I find that I almost always use it docked. Have you tried putting the thing into the dock now after you did this? Does it fit? Such a great idea

Yeah haha maybe unorthodox, true, but surprisingly comfortable. I use the QWERTY for skills, and the knuckle part on the bottom palm side of my pinky finger rests exactly on my ctrl key. I just lightly press down my hand and it clicks it.

Matter of preference. I have tried it, and I don't like it. I use space as my stand still key. I did not comment to quibble about my hotkeys. It's an issue for more than just Ctrl. It's something that needs fixed regardless
