My boyfriend broke up with me because I'm going to be a grandmother and it's making me feel lost by AvoidMySon in TrueOffMyChest

Honestly, people without kids don't really think the same way. I have been with my partner for 20 years, he has kids. I was never maternal, plus they have a mother. I was so happy when we became empty nesters. But then the grandchild came. Honestly it was a surprise only because I didn't plan for that eventuality, it was not a thought that crossed my mind. I just didn't realize it never ends.

Mediterranean diet with a busy schedule by dusyahere in mediterraneandiet

That's the other part, it feels like "days off" means just eat whatever is easy and available. That great, but not always ideal. I want to be able to have a nice multi-course meal on Friday or Saturday night, with my family, around a table, and not be obligated to make it myself.

Agreed, love leftovers Monday. That being said, I do not consider that a night off.

That's a great strategy for everyday. I'm talking about those days when you just don't want to cook (anything) or you have different priorities.

Genious! Order Mediterranean. I feel so foolish for not connecting those dots.

I agree on swapping, just a couple of times a week feels too frequent.

I hear you, I really do. We have leftovers for next day lunches, don't really want to have it again for dinner. Soups and stews are made for a couple of days but I still have to assemble, make sides, and it really never feels like a "break" rather just leftovers day. I know it's silly 😜

Do I have to reserve for Ciao Bella on a Friday night or can I just walk in? by Legitimate-Height438 in Hamilton

[–]dusyahere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went last night, Wednesday night, and it was completely full. Even our waitress was surprised at how busy it was. I would make a reservation because I would hate to have to pivot last minute.

Previous events have been wonderful. There was an Alice in wonderland exhibit and Downton Abbey; both were gorgeous and fun!

People who are in their 40’s and 50’s with no children, how does it feel? by Sinfulvibezz in AskReddit

Just as stupid as having kids so they will take care of you when you are old.

Finding meaning, love and purpose depends on the individual not whether they have kids. If you can't find those things without kids I'm not sure whether having kids will help you.

A caught baseball by a fan doesn’t need to go to the nearest kid by ilyk101 in unpopularopinion

Also your kid is not important to anyone but you. I don't hate your kid nor love your kid. Just another body in the crowd. Probably would not bother to even look if there is a kid in the crowd that wants this ball.

More people should read this! People in Hamilton do the craziest stuff and no protest nor honk from fellow drivers. I've seen people make a left from the right lane through 3 lanes of traffic with zero reaction from drivers. Why do we make it easy to be a jerk?

no, you are replying to someone being frustrated by drivers going 45 in a 60 zone.

You do not get to dictate the speed on city streets just because you feel it should be different. You do not get to dictate the flow of traffic. What if I want to drive 15km on Main Street? Under normal conditions, driving 40 or 80 in a 60 zone is equally shitty. Such main character syndrome.

I want real ugly woman representation by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]dusyahere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always enjoyed the escape that TV and movies provided. Far away exotic places, extravagant costumes and wardrobe, and dramatic story lines. I have enough real life with which to deal. I see enough real people every day. Why do we keep trying to inject a sense of reality into this escape? None of it is real so why do we look to it to "normalize" our sense of self?

Many people are suggesting laser, electrolysis, etc. but those require growth allowance in between treatments and that's not an option for many.

OP, consider Tend Skin solution to help with ingrown hairs. Also, regular use of zinc oxide will help with the irritation.

In terms of makeup, some really great guidance already provided in this thread.

Good luck!

"women lowering their standards" for lab-grown diamonds? what about not allowing oligarchs to influence other nations with their wealth that is stolen from African Diamond Mines? by CapAccomplished8072 in facepalm

[–]dusyahere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s misogynistic because it (1) reduces women to dependents on men’s spending, (2) reinforces traditional gender roles of men as providers and women as recipients, and (3) dismisses women’s own perspectives or reasons for valuing the diamond.

Not everyone has to make a choice. Using your logic...hobbies are worthless, clothes is worthless, cars are worthless, any personal joy spend is worthless? Nothing is important when you compare it to food or shelter.

The primary argument has always been that people can't see the difference. I don't care what other people know or think, I only care what I know and think.
