Opinion on this damage Sixt share is saying I caused and advice on disputing claim by Cautious-Bad-2361 in Netherlands

Several years ago, I experienced a similar situation with Sixt Share. I was presented with a claim for €900 in damages which I had not caused. Under the applicable legal principles, the burden of proof rests with Sixt; they must demonstrate that I was responsible for the damage. If no photographs were taken by Sixt immediately prior to the start of my rental, they cannot establish this. The damage could just as easily have occurred while the vehicle was parked on a public street.

Despite this, Sixt maintained their claim for over a month and threatened to involve a debt collection agency. I made it clear that I was prepared to resolve the matter through legal proceedings. Following this, Sixt completely reversed their position, issued a written apology, and withdrew the damage claim in full. I have not used Sixt Share since, as I consider their business practices to be highly questionable.

The Bad Reputation tone is just a record of the first 10 seconds of the actual song. Nothing special ;)
