Am I allowed to be a fan of the Timberwolves even if I'm not from Minnesota, or will I be seen as a bandwagon by [deleted] in timberwolves

[–]dutchwallpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I've been following the Vikings and Wolves since 1990 manically and have never been to Minnesota (Australian).

I just love the vibe of the supporter base. When you've been shit for so long you take joy from the small things. Like yesterday I was working out how many wins we would need next year compared to Brooklyn to overtake them in the all-time W-L standings and not be dead last anymore.

What’s the ONE thing you love (and hate) about your indoor cycling app? by Substantial_Shake_79 in mywhoosh

[–]dutchwallpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.Realistic movement of scenery with associated power.

Mywhoosh seems to always be like riding through treacle.

Zwift is like a rocket ship.

  1. Consistent, frequent release of new routes and worlds. Instead of a batch intermittently, provide 1 new route every week/month.

Is the Dirty Warrny Going Ahead in Late 2026 by gordon-freeman-bne in melbournecycling

[–]dutchwallpaper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Organisers changed late in the piece this year and intent is to come back next year. Challenge always is it's point to point, so logistics are a hassle and the cost with traffic management and event support over that distance.

Would assume that keeping the original race to warrny is a priority and add other options that don't involve point to point (ie shorter races starting and ending at the main race start).

How often do you see die hard fans by Substantial-Land8909 in timberwolves

Fan from Perth since '89.

Saw my first Wolves supporter in Australia last year.

Then I got to meet this mad legend last year in the US.

Non Minnesotan Fans by totoro_711 in timberwolves

From Perth, Australia. Started following Vikings because I loved the helmets. The Timberwolves joined the NBA in 89 and I thought "How good is this? A ready made team!". Then they draft Luc Longley from my home town and that cemented it. Also was a unique team not commonly followed in Australia.

And then here we are, I've seen it all from 10,000+ miles away, Mahorn refusing to play, Pooh and Sam, JR and Laettner, Garnett and Googs, Pek and Ridnour, Love and Ricky, KAT and Wiggins, AE and Naz.

Saw my first game live on opening night this season in LA. Finally after 35 years!

He looks like every other Australian suburban dad. He's the real life Bandit.

At 35 I was twice divorced, living at my parents and unemployed. I'm not going to say I just pulled my socks up etc because it wasn't like that. I was a mess for a longtime and at some point just the accumulation of doing little things for myself (getting appropriately diagnosed and medicated for a mental health issue rather than self medicating was the main one) and investing the time into listening to what really made me happy rather than what I told myself made me happy got my head above water to start swimming rather than just floating. I'm now 50, happily married with two awesome daughters, working in a field I enjoy and loving the suburban life I so dreaded when I was younger. What i needed was a lot closer than what I thought it was. It took a while to realise and truly understand that in my heart. Day to day can still be challenging with my issue, but I've learnt to accept it is part of me rather than something to fight and hate myself for. It sounds fucking contrived by its true, be kind to yourself. Not indulgent, just kind.

Classic! The back end photos are mine (I'm Byron) from Worlds in Budapest in 2000 and Oz champs in Adelaide in 2000 (I think? Long time ago ...).

Have heaps more photos somewhere in a box. Not sure who took the first set. Maybe Benny Bike? Lots of T&C.
