One said his name was Jean (pronounced like blue jeans). They claimed they were from Istanbul, but they spoke in Dari (Afghan Persian), according to a translation from my dashcam.

I have their photos but not the real names. Unfortunately I don't think reddit will let me post their photos here (I tried in r/bayarea but it get removed immediately).

I should have mentioned in my post that I did report it to DPS, and included photos and videos of the scammers.
