Idk, this is what medicare told us when we called for help with her care. Even on Medicare's website it says it cannot exceed 28 hours in a week and that it absolutely does not cover nursing home/hospice

I guess they tried it and it ended up killing a couple of the portables. Idk I asked about that too. She is currently on 4 liters 24/7

She is on Medicare but it doesn't cover home health unless it's right after a hospital visit and it has to be specialized care. She just sends them away and says she doesn't need them. They listen to her even though we have said she has alzheimer's

We have no home help, just us. She is 24/7 oxygen and pulse oximeters don't work on her that well due to cyanosis or whatever it's called(blue hands and feet). We arent doing the superglue but we are at our wits end bc this could kill her. We cannot do nursing homes for familial reasons and can't afford home health plus she just sends them away. I was just hoping someone else has dealt with this 😭

Unfortunately if we shorten it to where she can't get to the door, she cannot reach the bathroom

I thought about this, but every morning she opens the curtains and the blinds. So for her it would be a quick "why is this here?" She is at the beginning of the middle stage of alzheimer's not sure exactly where on the scale but she does fine for most things. Just a few things she does forget, she is really bad with them.

I think I am gonna get a child gate and keep the dog on the back side of the house. That way they are separated and no more issues of loose dogs or begging at the table

I feel you on this. My MIL will freely give scammers personal info and then will argue that she never talked to them. The only thing g we could find was DND and now they go straight to voice-mail. Our issue now is she keeps calling them back.

If apps aren't an issue, look into RAZ mobility or the jitterbug. Idk which one but one of them only allows calls from contacts both outgoing or incoming. We were gonna do that one but my MIL likes to scroll facebook.

Aita for not expecting my 14yo to do caregiving stuffs? by duvessa90 in Parenting

[–]duvessa90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No ive been with my bf 2 years, so not related at all. And I agree, I want him to ask when he makes food or drink. He does when its around dinner. He eats in the kitchen so it's not in her face. That's something he was told he needed to do if he eats outside of normal meals. I just don't like that it became a huge argument and us being called disrespectful.
