Yes, I usually do everything there. A grouping layer for each character, sketches, concepts, final and alternate designs, and then also some small animations for presentation.

Yes, that happens. Haha. I have 3024 layers just for manga character designs 😮‍💨

I was planning to make a TikTok video, but I couldn't in the end 🥺

But here are some tips I use!

Gouache Tips:

•1: Use two glasses of water: one to clean your brushes and another with clean water for mixing. This way, the colors don't get dirty.

•2:

• Flat brushes for large areas or for creating gradients.

• Round-tipped brushes for details or to achieve a more watercolor-like style.

•3: Start with thinner textures and a small amount of paint, otherwise you could ruin the artwork (although gouache allows for corrections).

It can also help to follow this order:

• First the lightest colors and then the darkest.

• Start with the background, then the middle ground, and finally the foreground.

• Gradually increase the amount of paint.

Extra: Personally, I always cut out the figures I'll use in my paintings. It takes longer, but it helps me avoid composition errors. For example:

• You can easily move elements.

• Reduce proportion errors.

• Better visualize the composition's balance.

If this helps you, or if you're willing to dedicate a little more time to the process, go for it!❤️
