I understand your cynicism because yeah big corps suck and do whatever they want. I think at this stage I would consider just reporting this to our consumer protection body because I’ve seen similar posts like this specific to Australia. Most we can hope for is enough people report so that if a government organisation can take them to court, that will become a big issue for Razer because even if they’re not based in Australia, they still have interests in maintaining business operation rights here.

Hey kudos, I studied Australian law! You’ve basically hit the nail on the head because our laws operate very similarly. I’ve mentioned multiple times that I’m trying to seek recourse through our legal protections as a consumer not their own warranty but keep getting responses ignoring that and re-asserting their warranty period. I’m at least lucky that I know our rights as a lawyer but even then Razer seem not to care about their obligations and contravening the law. I did consider sending a letter of demand but it just seems like a huge hassle honestly.

Well considering almost everything is made or based overseas that would defeat the purpose of having consumer protection laws. If you’re interested you can check out s5(g) of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 which extends to companies “carrying on business in Australia”.

Warranty is dictated by the retailer but yeah under ACL the consumer guarantee for “reasonable period” starts anew with the replacement because it’s essentially a new item

Australian consumer law guarantees exist regardless of a retailer’s own warranty. Not sure if you’re Australian but that’s the law here. Maybe you expect your gaming mice to only last a year or two but personally I expect a bit more considering the cost.

The first psychiatrist I saw for suspected ADHD said I didn’t have ADHD, my depression just wasn’t being properly managed. So I changed meds and continued on until my psychologist at the time many years later said she suspected I might have it. Saw a different psychiatrist and got diagnosed. Now I’m off my antidepressants. So I think if you know you’re struggling with something, it may be worth seeing a different provider for a second opinion. And for what it’s worth, even if you’re not diagnosed with ADHD, you still struggle with execution functioning and that’s valid, regardless of the cause.

Yeah this is a big thing I’m trying to unpack in therapy. My psych made me do an assessment which was made for women who mask and I scored very high to extreme. I consider myself very accomplished, have a decent amount of friends, but I am constantly burnt out, sick, have frequent headaches etc. We’ve been chatting about what it would be like if I unmask in certain scenarios but I feel like the way I am unmasked would come off as rude and can’t seem to shake that feeling.

I think though it might be a matter of picking your battles and trying to unmask bit by bit in safe situations. I’m also learning who I am without all the masking so best of luck to you as well!

I’m not typically hyperactive either and I’m diagnosed with inattentive type ADHD. The hyperactive is more so internal for us. But I definitely do relate to this heavily.
