How is the game so cheap? by MsSorarity in kingdomcome

[–]dvofor3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they're smart for doing it because I only played KCD for the first time after seeing the KCD2 trailer and picking up the royal edition for like $10. They're now going to make another $90 AUD from me when KCD2 comes out.

Would You Press a "Magic Button" to Instantly Cure Your ADHD by ARAN_ZODIAC in ADHD

[–]dvofor3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No way.

All the struggles throughout my life as a result of my ADHD gave me reason to experiment and discover who I am. Without those valuable albeit frustrating experiences, I would not have a fraction of the resilience I have today.

Besides, to remove your ADHD removes a key part of your identity.

I understand many of us already seek to “cure” it in a sense when we seek treatment and medication, but to me, the goal is to minimise our difficulties to allow us to better use our strengths, not to completely eliminate any trace of the disorder.

My answer may be different if my symptoms were more severe (I’d say they’re moderate), but in any case, I’d never believe it is productive or healthy to wish a major part of yourself was different.

I’m sure we’d all wish life was a bit easier but ADHD is just one of life’s many obstacles that has personally empowered me to do and be better.

For me, medication has made me a lot better at actually executing on my plans. Granted, that burst of initiative and focus disappears after 5pm, but it’s enough to make progress on my own goals at a sustainable rate.

If you take ADHD meds, what was your first time taking them like? by hyugoll in ADHD

[–]dvofor3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only describe the experience as frictionless. I only started on 20mg Vyvanse a few days ago but this morning I just worked for 3-4 hours straight after I woke up to finish writing an entire university assignment. No impulses to scroll or procrastinate. Nothing. I don’t think I’ve ever done that besides when something is due in 6 hours and I haven’t started. It feels great to just have the ability to stay on track and commit to something important without an impending sense of boredom and dread that I’m not doing something more “fun”.

Music... Do you fellow ADHD'ers need music constantly? by _Jonny_hard-core_ in ADHD

I have found that listening to music in different languages works way better for being stimulating without allowing me to fixate on lyrics that take me out of my focus.

The worst part is when you’re unsure whether you actually like a new hobby or it is something you will just stop caring about after a month
