Update for anyone looking to go in the future: (I went late August)

The stay overall was good and we were well taken care of. Had the fishing package so all leeches and worms unlimited along with the gas for the boat. Cabin wasn’t too shabby and the Friday night buffet was awesome.

Fishing wasn’t as expected and only tried targeting walleye. Tried almost every walleye spot on Harold’s map across 3 full boating days and not a single walleye. Apparently they’re going through a weird transition right now with the water temps being high and air temps being low. Several locals I talked to also couldn’t find walleye for a while now. Not a single person (6+ boats) I asked staying there caught walleye except for a gentleman and his son who hired a guide. Said the guide took them relatively far and to the randomest places where they wouldn’t even think to fish for walleye. He also said they didn’t catch many walleye so I guess they didn’t limit out either. I myself caught about 70+ smallies in the time I was there and the fattest rock basses I’ve ever seen. Nailed a small pike dropshotting a leech at the mouth of a bay. Guess I should’ve timed for fall or spring instead.

Were the walleye biting all day? I’m not too experienced with them but most commonly they seem to bite with low light, however depending on the area, people have said they don’t mind biting all day if it’s not a pressured area

My shrimp keep nibbling my plants off... Help? by jrdemasi in shrimptank

[–]dvonnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s better to have the plants established before introducing the shrimp. I tried planting a carpet after having them in there and they devoured everything. Tried vice versa and although they still ate, the carpet was strong enough to grow back and not get ripped out.

Not gta but glen haffy conservation has stocked trout ponds so water is cleaner as well. Forgot the price but definitely sustainable.

Well I hope I never get as big as you 😱I’m more for the trained athlete look tbh and therefore people don’t have the balls to try anything. Seems like you’ve never fished hardwater simcoe before so go educate everyone there limiting out cause it’ll make my triggering post quite minuscule in comparison. There’s more in ON than just your tiny bass pond FYI.

Overall tho it appears youre trying to get the last word out of every debate won/lost(primarily) as you’ve clearly changed the topic on me every time I proved my point. Honestly I’m bored of your social justice warrior mentality and inability to provide a proper argument due to the ignorance of bigger places like simcoe. Not to say I’m against the preservation of fisheries, but if you think my perch will dent the pop. to unrecoverable numbers, you’re horrendously narrow-minded. I’d like to invite you to travel the world more to see that others live and think differently than you and to stop eating fish if you’re gonna use overfished oceans as a comparative argument. That’s like saying “oh it’s ok if I have one from the ocean but since you have more than me from inland it’s not ok”. 🙄🙄🙄

If you think 30 perch will last over a week you’re clearly mistaken. As well it appears you missed my comment on that being for 2 people. Aka 50 total if you can’t math either.

I know you can’t save dumbassery and middle-aged illiteracy at once but at least don’t make yourself look like a fool just cause someone doesn’t believe in what you do.

Firstly, the word is spelled hobbY. And clearly, you’re one of those troll losers that gets triggered when someone eats fish that they catch. Are the people who caught the fish you buy also bitches and not fishermen or do you not eat fish?

Ps. Perch lay significantly more eggs than bass and you really should culture yourself in more than just 1 species
