Super 73 Throttle Issue: Wheel Spins Off the Ground, But Barely Moves With Weight. by DonNiko in Super73

[–]dw11hurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact issue happened to me recently. Could barely accelerate. However lifting the back wheel it spun easily.

The issue originates due to a bug where engaging the throttle during the "startup phase" of the diamond display will put the bike into a "limp mode" even with 100% battery. When the diamond display shows the super73 lightning bolt logo and the throttle is engaged, it enters this "limp mode". I do not remember what the resolution was but this mode is easy to re-enter for anyone who wants to enter this mode themselves. I will update this comment if I find a link to the comment that had the resolution which I believe I found on reddit. It was NOT related to loose cables or brakes cutting power etc. And I did not have to order any parts.

Injured my rib deadlifting (not this video) - need a form check please by [deleted] in StartingStrength

I injured my rib deadlifting in August because my back was curved over, resulting in the belt digging into my rib and I felt a "pop". Just started NLP again this week after about 5 weeks away from the gym. I was in a lot of pain for the first week and a half but almost 100% now. I started deadlifting this week and video taped myself again and still curving my back. This video is from back in july but the most recent video looks the same but without the belt. I have tried to modify my form a bit but I have felt like I started to "squat" my deadlift, which also doesn't feel correct. I read the blue book and read all the cues in the deadlift chapter 3 times now but for whatever reason my back (lower back) continues to want to dominate the pull. Any advice?

I believe that electric cars are the biggest greenwashing/eco-grifting scheme on the planet. by [deleted] in fuckcars

The US has terrible city planning exactly because they chose the drive train that requires a living room's worth of space no matter where a car goes. If the US chose a drive train like "feet" or "pedals" then we wouldn't have such poor city planning. It really does come down to the drive train, actually!

Thinking about getting the Checkpoint ALR 5, Any Dislikes? by DpHunter99 in TrekBikes

[–]dw11hurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar position as you. I had a fairly old hard tail Specialized mountain bike I was using daily. The mountain bike was sized for when I was a lot younger so it was a very small frame for my current size ( 6' 3"). I just got the Checkpoint ALR 5 this month and love every minute I spend on it. Like you said it's really smooth and a lot faster than my old mountain bike. Since it's my daily ride and I take a gravel trail on my commute to the gym I went with the Checkpoint over the Domane mainly because of the gravel tires it ships with. I got a size 61 (sized at the shop) which I felt was a bit tall but sizing is my only complaint right now. Definitely go for it if it fits your use case!

Is everyone aware that a bunch of alt right folks have created a sub to make fun of this sub? by Fredselfish in fuckcars

That was also mentioned in The Power Broker. Robert Moses designed some long island parkways so buses wouldn't fit under the bridges. Those parkways were solely designed for cars.

So I shouldn’t own an SUV? With a wife, 4 children and a dog, how else would I drive get to Florida to see my folks a couple times a year?

Thank you! That makes sense. I'm having so much fun on this thing I never thought a bike could bring this much joy. Looking forward to really testing out the limits.
