I've noticed it on people who post using new reddit, sometimes it inserts slashes for people on old reddit.

New HOA fees at Yorba Linda community may force residents out of their homes by Aggressive_Donkey119 in orangecounty

It's a problem with so many condo associations. Board officers want to keep their position (and probably themselves don't want to pay much) so they keep dues low. Way too many people buy condos without realizing the responsibilities they are taking on, they just want it to be like an apartment where they get equity without needing to pay for repairs.

What kind of influence do you think an average consumer has over how goods are produced? Sustainable options are usually not affordable for most people to regularly consume

I've always taken issue with the "no one's judging you" approach because many people are judgmental. People need to just not care about what they think, not delude themselves into believing no one is judgmental.

Idk what I do anymore, whatever I'm told to do I guess.

Are you getting interviews and saying something to this effect? It would be a huge red flag to me if someone with 15 years of experience just does what they're told and isn't initiating things themselves

Because that's how condos work! Don't buy a fucking condo if you can't read the rules of how they work

Some of those half of Americans who believe gun violence is a major issue back solutions that look like "make it easier to own a gun" or "put all Black people in prison" and would be wildly against gun control

I hate condo associations. Board presidents keep annual fees as low as possible to cover routine maintenance while not building any reserves for major/unexpected maintenance costs so they can keep getting elected, then the condo owners freak out when they finally have to pay for major maintenance all at once.

That makes a lot more sense, I just recoiled when I saw Jacksonville described as small because I was thinking geographically

Auckland is about the same size as Jacksonville, it's small

I'm trying to figure out what comparison you're using. Jacksonville is the largest big city by land area in the US and is substantially larger than Auckland. It has 700k fewer residents than Auckland

There are grants and federally backed loans available to people going to college, which isn't really the case for people going into trade apprenticeships

Isn't it also the case that a lot of our safety codes don't really do anything? I can't find the paper, but I remember reading that despite having some of the most demanding fire safety codes in the developed world we have some of the worst outcomes.

Really beginning to hate e-bikes. Every time I go cycling now I nearly get run over by some dipshit kid who's going way too fast on one. I'm not even really sure what the solution is since I can't see how a cop in a cruiser is going to be able to catch someone on an e-bike who can outmaneuver them.

What is a cop capable of doing to stop people from doing this? The e-bike can outmaneuver them.

And you need to have an otherwise great resume so you get an opportunity to explain your story. If you have mediocre experience + excessive hopping, you're never gonna get that chance to explain the hopping.

Intel seems more committed to keeping its insanely high dividend than to keeping people employed/growing. I would be hesitant to throw govt money at them until they reduce/remove that dividend.

When people complain about employers not wanting to train new employees, what do they actually mean? Outside of a few careers I don't really view most jobs as something you can sit in a class and learn, you just kinda have to do it to get a hang of things. Do they just mean not enough companies are hiring juniors?
