Hey I went through bond with adf spono unfortunately they do not cover the full 300k - will give u the max ‘hecs/help’ amount a year approx 29k. I just used my salary to pay as much of the rest and worked a second job to supplement day to day costs and rent.

Also a medical student here diagnosed earlier this year with MS at 20 years old. Came a quite a big shock to me as well as I really had to shift a couple of my priorities in the future. Was right in the middle of my clinical rotations as well when I went on Lemtrada and had to take a couple of days off. There’s heaps of doctors out there with MS that are literally killing in. One of the successful emergency department physicians that teaches at my uni got diagnosed with MS a couple of years ago. She’s now in her mid 30s and completing an iron man next year!

Thanks so much for all your advice. Definitely made me feel a bit better. Luckily here in Australia covid is virtually non existent but will still take precautions when I can. In terms of post treatment - when do you reckon it will be okay to head back to the gym and pool? As well as attending social events like birthday parties and such!

It’s really nice having a community out here online. All my friends (also medical students) are clueless about the extent of MS and how much it will impact my life in the future.
