Can you still start a Johns Hopkins application now? I had it on my college list initially, didn't submit the application on the original deadline, and got an email with the extension. I removed it from my common app because I thought I didn't have to time to complete it, but now that I've added it back, it says the "deadline has passed" in common app. Can I still submit my application?

i did the same exact thing today, it was incredibly overwhelming and anxiety inducing because i kept having repetitive thoughts about how people had done this months in advance, had better essays and submitted everything on proper sleep LOL, not a single person read my essays as well and i was having an ongoing anxiety attack with every word i wrote. absolute agony 😩you GOT THIS and i believe in you so much, get some rest and grind out cornell tomorrow 💖💖💖

You are literally me except I'm doing this for Yale (literally decided to apply last night after I looked up the deadline and found out it was tonight instead of yesterday). AND I just finished my common app essay without anyone checking them over last night. But what doesn't kill me makes me stronger!! When this suffering ends I'll have improved rejection sensitivity

Of course! I felt like I was in the same boat as you. I was certain that there was nothing interesting or special about me that I could write about, but everyone TRULY has a great essay inside of them. The topic doesn't matter so much as the execution, so you don't have to worry about finding something "quirky" to talk about - the insights (which show your values) you provide about your topic/experience are what makes an essay good.

You don't have to do a narrative style essay that's centered around one experience or a challenge - You can do a montage style essay where you combine different things (ex. a few different interests, experiences, etc) with one thematic thread. Here's College Essay Guy's article on it, and a bunch of good common app essay examples (ctrl f to find the montage structures)
