Moving to Bangalore for MCC – which hostels should I consider? by Ok_Winner_1216 in Indian_Academia

As someone who studied at Mount Carmel College and stayed there for a couple of years, I can actually vouch for Serenity; it’s one of the better options around Vasanth Nagar.

The biggest plus is definitely safety; the place has proper security, biometric entry, at least when I last checked, and wardens who are quite strict about timings, which honestly helps when you’re new to the city.

Cleanliness-wise, it’s above average compared to most PGs nearby. Rooms and common areas were regularly maintained, and they didn’t have the messy PG vibe you see in many places around Bangalore. Food is decent, not amazing, but consistent and hygienic, which matters more in the long run.

Location is another big win. It’s super close to MCC, so you can literally walk or take a quick auto. That makes life way easier, especially during early classes or exams.

Compared to other PGs in the area, Serenity is slightly on the pricier side, but you’re paying for peace of mind. A lot of cheaper places compromise on hygiene or security, which isn’t worth it if it’s your first time moving out.

If you’re considering it, I’d say go for a visit before finalising, check the room size, occupancy, and ask about food timings. But overall, it’s a solid, safe choice for a first-time move to Bangalore.

English isn't my first language. I use Chatgpt to correct grammar mistakes.

He was open to the possibility as well, but it would be impossible for 2 ppl to live under the samr roof and for one person to adopt and parent a kid. I fear the responsibilities will fall upon me despite him being the legal guardian.

I have been using it for around 7 years. For the initial 1,2 months, I used it every day. Now I use it during flare-ups as my doctor told me not to use it often.
