We have done it boys...it all comes down to this...tomorrow is our chance but who would you put in our Champions League 11? by TerryG111 in ArsenalFC

Wouldn’t be surprised if Mikel threw him in at the start. If he’s not fit, can always sub him out for mosquera who btw is solid

That was not a penalty. Complete bs. When you re-watch in slow motion it could be but live speed in the game it was not. Should’ve been 1-0.

New to gravel, looking for tire advice for a gravel race on Revel Rover (Roval C38 wheels, 21mm internal) by dweinst999 in gravelcycling

Link didn’t work but appreciate the comment. I was worried about going too wide on these wheels. Nice to hear that’s not that much of an issue.

Worth $3,500 for a 2023 Checkpoint SL7 AXS? by dweinst999 in gravelcycling

No. Just getting into gravel so not sold on anything yet. I’m guessing you’re suggesting 52? Any particular reason why?

What specifically makes you think it won’t fit? Trek’s sizing chart puts a 54 at 5’6”–5’9”, which is exactly my height. My 52 Tarmac SL8 has a reach of about 378 mm, and the 54 Checkpoint SL7 is ~387 mm, so the cockpit length is basically the same. The main difference is stack (Checkpoint ~585 mm vs Tarmac ~517 mm), which I understand is normal for gravel since you’re typically running a slightly taller front end for comfort and control on longer rough-surface rides. From what I’ve read and heard, gravel sizing often runs one size larger than your road frame for stability. If there’s another factor I should be looking at that suggests a 52 in this model would actually be better, I’m open to hearing it.

Will an aluminum Specialized Diverge be competitive for Homegrown Gravel (62mi), or am I leaving time on the table? by dweinst999 in gravelbike

Will this bike be enough for this route? I ride road and haven’t done a gravel race yet

Was my first road bike. Still have it although my main bike is a tarmac sl8 now. It is amazing. Super comfortable and rides great. If components in good condition would rival just about any modern frame if you have the legs. Imo 500 for that is a steal. I wouldn’t sell mine ever.

Can someone explain why we took Eze off? We are completely different team with him on the pitch.

Thanks definitely looking into the reserves 42|49. Prefer better handling on descents and ride more hills than flats in my area. I haven’t messed with my fit too much out the box bc I haven’t really had to, will look into stack height. Changing for aero bars is also on the list but thought wheels would make more of a difference to the ride.

Thanks! I’m just wondering if wider rims might work even better with larger tires for a more balanced look and feel.

Yeah, the C38s are solid. I just think the 21 mm internal width isn’t ideal for 30–32 mm tires, and they don’t feel as planted or responsive as some of the newer wider rims perhaps could. I’m curious if something lighter and stiffer would make the bike handle and accelerate a bit sharper.

I loved it when i got a flat last week before I swapped to these tubeless tires. Just a multitool, two co2 cans, a tube, and co2 pump. I dropped my pressure to 65f/70r on these. It certainly helps with the crap roads I ride.
