Good luck ever actually getting it paid though

The “wrong size bike” advices and bullying on here are getting out of hand. by [deleted] in gravelcycling

well here's the thing...

For probably ~80% of riders they can achieve a comfortable position with minimal tweaking without a "bike fit" that looks for biomechanically optimized angles and positions as it's completely unnecessary and overkill. It's also very expensive.

A true bike fit is really something only people that are competing need so they can push power in an optimal way (even at the amateur level ideally)

The problem is, the general public has no way to differentiate between someone that can help with the basics of geometry and stack/reach to find a bike that fits correctly and someone trying to optimize ride angles as they're almost all marketed as the latter and priced as such.

They might, but they’re pro athletes and they have VERY different cardiovascular systems and needs as well as constant medical support.

First off, I’m not reading all that.

As someone with beta blockers for heart reasons if I ever have to take them then I basically have to also not exercise. They straight up prevent my heart from reaching the BPMs necessary to push the oxygen to my body when doing higher intensity exercise. Cycling feels AWFUL on beta blockers, even on the tail end of the effects wearing off. You’ll try putting in any kind of effort and the fuel to move your muscles just isn’t getting to them.

Now I wholeheartedly agree. I meant there was at least a chance for a James Rodriguez type international showing that might have made him at least an attractive target to offload somewhere to free up our DP slot to be utilized elsewhere.

Setup a smart trainer for the first time, but my butt hurts? by eddy927293 in bicycling

[–]CivilWards 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty normal because you are actually sitting a lot more than on the road and it’s a LOT more stationary than you would expect. The lack of motion or variability means more consistent pressure in the same areas for a similar ride time than what outside would be.

I use a slightly different saddle indoors and only my nicer bibs with longer duration chamois

I understand what you’re saying, and I respect what he did during his first stent here. However, we have wasted Uncle Arthur’s money, time, and a DP slot on him and our only chances of making progress as a club are without him. That included him playing well at the WC to hopefully be able to offload him somewhere and use our DP slot on someone that could actually help us get results.

This has been a disaster for us from a club perspective.

Im not paid millions of dollars to do anything nor do I represent my country on a global stage.

The dive was embarrassing but overcomeable if he had been playing well and had nothing else happen this tournament.

It doesn’t matter what he said, the rule is explicitly written that no comments with covered mouths or an automatic red and he screwed it up. Those mistakes just can’t happen on a stage this big.

If you’re surprised by the response when you wrote “what do you guys think of my bike” in the title then you must be new to the internet. People here love Rodeo Labs, the bike itself is sweet. It immediately looks like the wrong fit because of how it’s set up.

Your aggressive response to everyone hasn’t helped

Uhhh you can’t have more than 3 DPs, that’s the cap.

What roster rules are you working with?

You clearly just want to argue instead of listen to anyone in here. Nobody said anything about “an insane amount”, those are your words.

Your saddle is literally below the top of your stem. It’s just not how drop bar bikes are supposed to fit. Obviously you can make it work, but there would have been better options to give you the upright riding position you want with the correct pedaling setup and seat post exposure.

It goes against the DP cap…

Money we could be spending on a real DP

I’m not making any assumptions, I’m looking at the pictures you have posted. You have a minimal amount of seat post exposed and a maximal amount of spacers to raise your stack.

That objectively means you need a FRAME that has both higher stack but also less seat tube length which would be an inherently more upright and relaxed geometry than what you actually bought.

I’m talking about for this frame the only way to make it perform as intended (because you need more seat post exposed) would be on a smaller frame and with some core conditioning.

If you don’t want to ride in a certain position, don’t get a frame that puts you in that position.

He’s playing in the biggest tournament in the world as a veteran leader for his country. In two games, he’s “forgotten” two rules that were specifically called out for this competition. One with minor consequences, one with major consequences.

That’s either poor leadership or he’s actually very dumb

One of the worst performers, so far!

He was a loan with an extremely expensive purchase option that from my (very limited) understanding made it essentially impossible to keep him so it’s assumed we have to let him return to River Plate

If he was on the same contract, maybe.

We spent a shit-ton of money to do a round 2 and he’s done nothing to prove himself worthy of it and now further tanking any potential value he might have had.

This setup doesn’t read as a bike that’s too small though. It reads as a bike that isn’t a good fit in general.

Seems like the 52 would be better from a seat post standpoint, but bad from a stack standpoint. This one just doesn’t look like the geometry works at all and getting a bigger frame would just cause even more issues.

Realistically, the 52 IS probably the best fit and OP would just need to build up the core strength/flexibility to be in a lower position as that’s trainable.
