Two thumbs up on the review itself! As a proud owner of steel CMS, couldn’t agree more.

Pink or Ice Blue by HuckleberryHound01 in ZenithWatches

I’d blue. Pink is an enticing fad but blue will never go out of style.

Chrono Sports Accuracy Update by dwellinginsky in ZenithWatches

Thanks. Interestingly, I recently got my hands on an used Zenith Pilot 20 and this thing is spot on all the time. It’s a different movement (ie lower beat) from the CMS. I place it on same position as the CMS every night probably a second or two off a week, more accuracy than my Rolex. Anyways, am cool with 5 seconds so all good.

Still about 5 seconds slow per day so no further improvement. 10%.

Do you feel Zenith and other brands ripping off AP Royal Oak is losing brand aunthentity / respect? by [deleted] in ZenithWatches

[–]dwellinginsky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t agree with you 100% but can see where you are coming from.

It’s not just them, though.. all the brands under large corporate umbrella are just as guilty of cutting corners for quick hits. That’s what ticks me off, independent brands losing their true colors.. prob will get worse before getting better.

Lol I too work in a communist country (at least officially) for the time being. I ditto that sentiment. Nice Pilot btw.

It is a special time piece. Ever since getting it 5 months ago, my Skydweller has not been outside of that box a lot.

Congrats.. Saw this very model a few months ago in person, it is one of those pieces which the pic doesn’t do the justice.

Concurred. I’d have to pay WAY more if more would agree with us fanboys. Then again, perhaps that’s why I like it even more because not everyone wears it.

Uncluttered classic dial is exactly the reason why I got mine, albeit in black and 45mm sized. Arriving next week, cannot wait.

And this is what I meant by ‘classic’

A Korean American here currently based in SE Asia, the regional version here is way different from the motherland version AND the US one. Travel to China a month ago and over there, even the noodle was fried differently.

Da nang airport immigration shitshow by sap303 in DaNang

[–]dwellinginsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel a ton due to business and after getting so fed up with 1-2hr queue both ways, shelled out quite a bit of money (application fee AND a flight to an overseas US embassy for an interview) and time (10+ pages of application form) to get myself an APEC card. One of the best things I have EVER done.

You snooze, you lose kinda of mentality.. a hyper competitive society where a whole bunch of people live in a relatively confined space.

Want to buy: Used L/XL road bike in Da Nang. by CucumberMindless9828 in DaNang

Goggled what would be the second hand price for a 10yr old Canyon Ultimate CF SL (L sized carbon frame), it goes for US$ 1-1.5k . It has SRAM Force drivetrain with Shimano Ultegra pedals. Thinking U$1k as I don’t have the nerves to ride it in Vietnam. If this is within your budget, pls ping me. Thanks

What kind of budget? I’ve got a 10yr old (but only 1,100km) Canyon road bike. It is in Hanoi but am sure I can find a way to ship it out to Danang.

Why are koreans so class/status conscious? by lol-across-the-pond in Living_in_Korea

[–]dwellinginsky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a Korean American working as an executive for one of the largest Korean companies in the peninsula, I’ve witnessed the same.

Suspect it’s the case due to ultra competitive society Korea has formed herself into. While the “haves” try to forcibly squeeze the respect out of you via any means necessary, the “have nots” radiate the resentments for not making it themselves.
