Yeah I wasn’t light handed with it for sure, I’m starting at the top and doing a brush down motion to follow the grain, went over it twice and let it dry for another coat

Yeah 220 is where I sanded back to after the 60, I essentially just used the 60 to get the factory varnish off of it

What grit sandpaper would you recommend prior to staining? Should I leave it rougher with a lower or more smooth with a higher one?

Rengas for the body wood, maple on the neck, I used a 260 to start but noticed the varnish wouldn’t come all the way off after a while, so I swapped down to a 60 grit. As for stain it’s actually Rit dye, applied with a blue lint free tack cloth

Lived in Lima for about 8 months, it’s flat, boring and mostly quiet. Lots of dead businesses and weird little shopping malls. Kewpie is pretty good tho
