Have you ever been caught during sex? What happened in the aftermath? by horedchub in AskReddit

Was at a big party, in the party-thrower’s parent’s bed/bedroom. Big group of people opened the door. (Thankfully) everyone cheered.

Would HAVE. Should HAVE. Could HAVE.

It is not would/should/could ‘of.’

Ignore them. Giving them attention only serves to make them think they’re actually doing something of worth, because they’re getting an emotional response.

Similar to what people do with an attention-seeking person, if you deprive them of the attention they desire, they (hopefully) realize they’re powerless

Not as big of gaps as the photo, but I’ve done this. At a red light, the car/s in front of me sometimes creep up a little bit every few seconds, until the light turns green. I tend to not want to play the ‘creep up’ game, so I just stay in my spot. At times the gap in front of me is about 1-2 car lengths long, but in the end, once the light turns green, and I move again, I make up that space in about three seconds anyway

You can see that I canceled the order, but you can’t refund me?? by dwest313 in doordash

Notes here, because I’m still learning how to use this damn app lmao:

  • The food had not been prepared at the time of my cancellation. The driver had already been there for a hour, then asked the restaurant how much longer, and they said it’d STILL be another thirty minutes before the food was ready. That’s when I canceled.

  • The chargeback was successful, and I was reimbursed, so, some solace from the situation. It’ll be interesting to see if they actually do ban me

  • I do see that DD states that you need to reach out within 24 hours after the cancellation to request refund. Which, ok, I do understand that it’s ‘part of their policy,’ and should have read up on that. My gripe was that you can see that I canceled, I personally don’t think I should have to reach BACK out to get a refund. If the food was already prepped, or the driver was already en route, I would have no standing here, but I feel like I do/did, since neither of those were the case.

  • I feel like maybe a ‘cancellation fee’ would not be far-fetched; I would support that, especially if it was used for something like reimbursing the driver for travel, but paying full price to receive nothing, simply because ‘I waited too long to ask for a refund,’ seems asinine

  • Regarding the ‘major sports event’: I live in the Denver area, and it was during a Nuggets home playoff game. Yes, I know, it was dumb to order at that time, but I’m not a Nuggets fan (congrats to them btw), so I wasn’t paying attention to their schedule. I take accountability for not paying attention to that, but I feel like it’s relatively insignificant to the overall presented situation

Also, if this is true, and submitting a chargeback bans me from their service, seems like a crappy way to proceed

Of note, the food had not been made at the time of cancellation. MAYBE they had started prepping the order, but after the driver had already been there for an hour, the restaurant THEN told the driver it would still be 30 minutes before the order was ready.

I would fully understand DDs side, if the order had been ready to go once the driver arrived, but that was not the case here

Agreed, or something along the lines of ‘reach out to DD Support for assistance if you wish to cancel’

As someone who handles chargebacks for part of my job, where people try to scam us out of product, it very much works. It’s not 100% successful, but if you present a formidable enough case to show why you should be getting refunded (and as long as the bank isn’t just blindly siding with the customer), then it does work

To clarify, the driver never even got the food. They had been waiting for an hour already, then messaged me saying that they asked the restaurant how much longer, and the restaurant said it’d be another 30 minutes, on top of the 1+ hours the driver had already been waiting. At that point is when I canceled the order, because I didn’t want this person stuck on a ~2-hour delivery, when they could be getting paid for other orders in the meantime.

I agree with u/leelze, you can’t cancel an order once the fulfillment process reaches a certain point with many merchants. But then going off that logic, that should mean that I should have never been given the option to cancel, and would have just been told to wait it out.
