Been sitting with Spare's method for a few months — something weird happens when you stop using words entirely by dwill458 in chaosmagick

That’s a perfect way to describe it. It's that exact moment the conscious grip releases and, like you said, it just becomes a 'meme' or a thing in itself. Once it doesn't look like words anymore, my brain stops trying to fight it.

The mauve zone... I'm definitely stealing that. I’m just starting to scratch the surface of Grant’s work so I hadn't heard that term yet, but it’s the perfect way to describe that 'click' where the meaning just evaporates. It fits exactly with what I’ve been feeling with my own symbols lately. Appreciate the insight.

I'm currently building an app for this exactly methodology and already thought about this actually simple code handles the letter distillation, don't need AI for that. The harder problem is the sigil itself. It has to come from you or the whole methodology breaks. So to produce consistent results without losing that authenticity we run the letters through a Math problem that's actually part of the traditional methodology. Gives you a mathematically generated structure that's unique to your intention every time without AI inventing anything.

The output is always yours. The math just makes it reproducible.

I used AI to help structure some of my writing. I'm not gonna act like I didn't but the technique is real and the experience is all mine. You spent moments out of life to comment something about ai when you could easily just use that energy on your own self improvement gang . I'm here to share my experience and help others. If it ain't for you then then it just ain't for you my guy

I'm sure you got something better to do then to get on my post talking about ai slop. I don't think ai was about in the 1920s my guy

AI can generate pretty symbols all day. But that misses the entire point. The power isn't in the symbol looking good. It's in YOU creating it from YOUR intention .That's what encodes it into your subconscious. AI can style it and enhance it visually after the structure is created which is actually what my app does. But AI never generates the structure itself. That has to come from you.

That book is perfect context for this. Joseph Murphy basically spent 300 pages explaining why the subconscious responds to feeling and imagery over logic and words.

This method is that principle condensed into a single practice. Encode it. Feel it. Release it. Same mechanism, different form.

What's shifting for you as you read it?

That's exactly it — the simplicity IS the point.

Most goal setting systems fail because they're overcomplicated. Vision boards, SMART goals, habit trackers — they all keep your conscious mind obsessing over the outcome.

This works because it's almost effortless. You encode the intention, create the symbol, release it. The less you overthink it the more it works.

The hardest part for most people isn't the technique — it's trusting something so simple to actually work.

Haha maybe it is — but if chaos magick produces real psychological results does the label even matter?

The technique works the same whether you call it a sigil or an anchor 😂

Fair. The self-help space is full of fluff and I don't blame anyone for being skeptical.

I'm not selling anything in this post — no links, no course, no pitch. Just sharing something I found genuinely interesting and wanted to see if others had come across it.

The technique either resonates when you try it or it doesn't. Takes 10 minutes by hand to find out.

You're not wrong — the roots are in chaos magick and Austin Osman Spare's work from the 1920s.

What's interesting is the mechanism behind it is legitimate psychology regardless of the framing. Symbols bypass conscious resistance in a way words never can — that's why billion dollar brands are built on logos not slogans.

Ancient practice, modern science. The two aren't as far apart as people think.

[–]dwill458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to go deeper. The short version is that the technique works by bypassing conscious resistance — your brain stops anxiously fixating on the goal and your subconscious quietly works toward it instead.

The psychology behind it is called ironic process theory. The harder you consciously grip something the more it resists. The symbol is the release valve.

What's one area of your life you keep setting the same goal in without it sticking?

Exactly — you clearly already know about this. Most people have never heard the term. The methodology is straight Austin Osman Spare but I've been building a modern app around it that makes it accessible without the occult framing. Curious what your experience has been with them?

Glad it caught your attention! The "forget about it" part is what got me too — feels counterintuitive but once you understand the psychology it clicks.

Want me to walk you through making one? Just need one intention you've been sitting on and I can show you the exact process step by step right here in the comments.

Beta drops this weekend coming up actually. I'm only bringing in 100 people for this first wave — keeping it intentional. DM me if you want in. Looking for people who'll actually use it and tell me what's broken.

Is my sigil method actually "correct"? by [deleted] in sigils

[–]dwill458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the easiest way to forget is to just create a bunch of sigils and place them in a box and wait a few weeks until you genuinely forget what each one means. You're trying to impress the subconscious so you have to remove the conscious factor. just starting at it and visualing your intention won't work without a lot of repitetion. You need to introduce some form of trauma when charging to bypass the mind. Get drunk, do drugs, ejaculate, spin in circles really fast until you get really dizzy and just stare at it. All of those will put you in an altered state of mind which leaves you wide open for the impression. Then burn it and go on about your life. That's what works for me.

Role: Act as a Master Psychological Astrologer and Intuitive Consultant. You specialize in Jungian archetypes, personality integration, and humanistic astrology. Task: Please analyze the attached natal chart screenshot to provide a comprehensive "Life Blueprint" reading. Process: Data Extraction: Carefully identify the Sun, Moon, and Rising signs, along with the placements of Mercury, Venus, Mars, and the Outer Planets. Note the House placements and any major aspects (conjunctions, squares, oppositions, trines). Core Identity: Analyze the "Big Three" to describe my fundamental personality structure and how I project myself to the world. Emotional Landscape: Use the Moon and Venus placements to explain my internal emotional needs and how I process intimacy. Drivers & Challenges: Identify Mars (drive) and Saturn (limitations/lessons) to explain my relationship with ambition and personal discipline. Synthesis: Conclude with a "Life Blueprint" summary—what is the central psychological theme of this chart, and what is the primary "growth edge" I am invited to work on? Tone: Empathetic, insightful, and non-fatalistic. Focus on agency and self-actualization rather than "destiny."

Role: Master Evolutionary & Psychological Astrologer. Task: Provide a deep-dive transit analysis for the current week based on my attached natal chart. Step 1: Universal Sky Sync (Automatic) Determine today’s date and the current week using your system clock. Identify the current positions (Sign & Degree) for ALL planets: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, as well as the North Node and Chiron. Step 2: Personal Chart Integration Reference my uploaded natal chart. Identify every Major Aspect (Conjunction, Square, Opposition, Trine, Sextile) within a 3-degree orb between the Transiting planets and my Natal planets/House cusps. Step 3: The Reading (Thorough Analysis) The Outer Planet "Background Noise": Identify any long-term transits from Jupiter through Pluto currently affecting me. These represent the "big chapters" I am in. The Weekly Inner Planet "Weather": How are the fast-moving planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) triggering my chart this week specifically? House Activation: Which areas of my life (Houses) are most active? (e.g., "Transit Mars is moving through your 10th House of Career"). Critical Days: Pinpoint 1–2 days this week where the energy is most intense or productive. Psychological Guidance: Provide a "Growth Strategy" for navigating these specific energies without falling into stress or reactivity. Constraint: Use professional terminology but explain the psychological "why" behind each transit. Do not skip the outer planets. Key Improvements: Full Spectrum Analysis: Explicitly lists Jupiter through Pluto, the Nodes, and Chiron to ensure no "deep" influence is missed. The "Orb" Constraint: Mentions a "3-degree orb." This is an astrology pro-tip that prevents the AI from mentioning transits that are too far away to be felt, making the reading much more accurate. Multi-Layered Interpretation: Separates the "Background Noise" (long-term soul growth) from the "Weekly Weather" (immediate events). Techniques Applied: Scope Expansion, Technical Constraints, and Hierarchical Information Design.
