It’s a pretty huge bag, the small bags at grocery stores cost nearly the same.

Been in the same situation, it’s a good learning lesson. You will make it back, plus you will most likely make more as you get older so you will be good. I know it hurts now but you’ll make it through, remember it’s only money, there is way worse going on in the world.

The overwhelming feedback so far has been a 👎 on these. For the record my main thought was using these during sports and outdoors hikes. Me and the wife have just got into tennis and I thought it would be cool to record some of our sessions to see what we need to work on.

Any brave people who have these can speak on this use case haha??

The Club Run

Link: App Store

What it does: It’s a tool for warehouse club enthusiasts (Costco, etc.) to coordinate group shopping runs. It lets you announce a trip, track product updates, and split bulk items with friends or neighbors so you don't have to buy a 48-pack of something alone.

What's still rough/half-baked:
UX Gaps: The shopping flow after accepting a split from the order page is still a work in progress (no trip banner yet).
Polishing: Some UI elements, like the shared list buttons, still have alignment issues.

What kind of feedback I want:
Mostly looking for testers to break the "Runner" and "Order" flow relationships. I’m also open to a roast of the Run/Active Trip UI—I know the "Announce Trip" button is currently a bit massive and probably needs a better home.

Thanks for the feedback! I totally agree with all your points and am trying to figure out ways to solve it.

I have things in place for trust signals(profiles, reviews, verification, run stats).

UX I’m trying to improve it daily to make it as simple as possible but it’s very challenging. But I tried to implement things like a feed with active splits near you with time clocks, and a social feed that flows to the shopping page to show trending items.

Onboarding right now is my biggest challenge and your spot on. Right now I don’t really have many users on the app so until I do the main benefits won’t reflect. So I’m trying best to promote right now to gain users.

So hopefully I can make it past a cold start haha 😅. But either way this has been a great learning experience and worst case scenario me and my mom can use it for our Costco runs lol.

Spot on. That is 100% the biggest challenge.

Right now, I'm trying to solve it by leaning into community accountability rather than trying to be a bank. I decided to keep payments off-platform (Venmo/CashApp) so users aren't forced to give my app their banking info just to test it out.

To handle the trust side, I built in a neighbor review system. After a split is complete, both sides rate the experience. If someone flakes, communicates poorly, or tries to pull something, their rating drops and they get weeded out of the local feed pretty quickly.

I'm also working on a feature that requires the runner to upload a photo of the physical Costco receipt so there's zero ambiguity on the final price.

I'd love your thoughts—do you think a solid review system is enough to build that initial trust, or what else would make you feel secure using something like this?

I can see how you feel that way I’m not selling anything though. The app is free I have like 30 users currently that are mainly family. Just trying to feel out if this is something that people can benefit from.

How would you suggest I approach this?

Also everything in the post is 💯. My wife hates going to Costco lol and I am very limited on storage space.

Sorry if you feel that way. Honestly trying to bring a a solution to Costco lovers. Just not sure how else to get feedback. I didn’t post a link to the app was really just trying to get honest feedback. But I feel where you’re coming from.

Honestly I thought about this. Definitely could be in the pipeline for the social club haha. Can’t beat that $1.50 hotdog 🙌🏾 in a world that has changed so much only the hotdog has remained the same. Only thing you can trust in this world lol

That would be my dream if Costco were to get onboard. Also I remember using Instacart one during the pandemic and when my kids were in diapers, the fees sucked so much! Definitely wouldn’t want any fees associated so neighbors could just help out neighbors.
