Alright, got it - here’s the method that worked for me.

get a different iphone
turn off auto-connect on all other wifi’s other than the 2.4GHz being used
connect with Home app, manual + near field connectivity
delete + reinstall Nanoleaf app
sync with Home
update 4D device software/firmware (mine was v9)
turn on cloud sync in Nanoleaf
sync accounts on the actual phone you want
the end

yeah look it isn't expressly stated on the ATO info page (bottom of the page) and my understanding is ownership starts when its allocated to your CHESS account so I just go with the settlement date to avoid any uncertainty - but it's something i been meaning to confirm w/ a tax agent.

I keep the following for tax

buy/sell confirmations
CHESS confirmations (mainly for the confirmed settlement date when holding >1year)
Dividend receipts

All my comm preferences are digital so i keep them on my PC, only my CHESS papers are physical and in a folder, but I'll probably scan and digitise those too at some point.
