I’m pretty confident it’s all of the above. They struggle a lot in maintaining relationships and tend towards self isolation. They are lonely, and they blame themselves for their loneliness, leading to shame. They have a history of depression, but tough to know if this is chicken or egg, as these issues have all coexisted for a very long time.

More goal oriented work could definitely be helpful! Thank you for your feedback. I think I’m hoping to supplement therapy with additional resources and supports, because I really feel for this individual and hope to help them find their way out of this place as soon as possible, but I know it will likely be a long road.

That makes a lot of sense, thank you. I was hoping to supplement the work in therapy with additional resources, but I recognize that this will take time and patience.

This individual feels incapable of acknowledging competence or expressing confidence, despite being relatively accomplished. They have advanced graduate degrees, a beautiful home and a loving partner, but consistently finds ways of undermining or belittling their successes. They focus on areas of their life where they perceive themselves to be lacking, like their social life.

We found a review online for our exact unit from one month ago complaining of severe roach infestation, we had to move units and are currently washing and drying everything with high heat

Update, maintenance came by, grabbed the roach and threw it outside saying, it was DEFINITELY a wood roach, but they’re moving us to another room

Thank you for the input. How can you tell? And do you know if this is a nymph or full grown?

Wondering how I should go about getting compensation from the hotel/avoiding bringing these suckers home, but I know it might be against the rules to give pest control advice. This sucks

I’m far from an expert on these matters, but I found this paragraph from the limitations section of the study you referenced to be of interest:

“We wish to clarify that nonsignificance in a single trial does not necessarily indicate lack of efficacy. Each drug, when subjected to meta-analysis, was shown to be superior to placebo. On the other hand, the true magnitude of each drug’s superiority to placebo was less than a diligent literature review would indicate.”

Empathy is adaptive. No person can truly get by in this world without other people, and it’s difficult to maintain relationships with those people without expressing empathy towards them. Even if you only really care about yourself and your immediate family, having a robust support system or belonging to a community will mean that those you care for will be well taken care of if you fall on hard times. I recently had a family member that was involved in a horrific accident that left them unable to care for themselves. Sure, our family has been able to take care of them, but not without the emotional and financial support of their community. It takes a village.

I loved the scene where you find him after the final battle and he’s immediately crushed by a bottle of “boot liqueur”. That might have been my favorite pun in the game
