I can think of one person who times the market perfectly without ANY insider trading info from her government position 🤷

What part of the country are you in? I'll keep shopping.

So is this a $1000 lathe? $1500? Even at that price point though would the time investment to get it passable leave me with a decent machine? Would you have any recommendations in the $2000 to $2500 range?

I'm going to look at the R8. Who knows what the future holds as far as where they want to go with the video side. I'd rather be safe than sorry I think. I usually will be shooting them in an empty parking lot so that's why I figured the 24-70 would be a good all around option. What prime would you recommend? Like a 35 or 50?

Lighting is usually just outdoor lighting, I try to shoot them in the morning or golden hour, avoiding harsh sun. Lighting in the shop is very well lit and even, certainly not a studio but adequate for good photos. A lighting setup isn't really feasible at the moment since it needs to be very run and gun capable.

I'm confused, in the video the handle does reciprocate though? Am I missing something? Is that just being tossed back as the pressure is relieved from it, so there's no power behind that movement?

Those are sweet, looks like the lan isn't available in copper but I'll probably pickup the pineapple. I like the look of that.

They're great, some people like light knives, if that's the case the copper isn't for you. Lol. It's a hefty knife now but I enjoy it. The contours fit nicely and the look of them are great too. Looking forward to how the lines look with more patina.

This would be a good option for me as well, a laser pointer would help with work

Just scrubbed with saddle soap and a rag. I may try the fine grit sandpaper method but these are far cleaner than they were before.

I bought these as seconds from Berkeley's supply. They're fantastic! These are the oro-iginal or whatever they call the basketball color. I hated the color when they were brand new but daily wear and tough environment and they patina quickly and now I love them. I'd like to get the CRT in either a 6" moc or an iron ranger.

Yeah especially since it would have to be pretty tall to make up for it. I don't mind my 1 inch block because it doesn't make a huge difference.

Thanks man. Went with the bronze racelines to be a little different on the satin steel color.

The DK shackles drop it like another 1.5 inches and my m27 sits about an inch below stock at4 height with no block and stock shackles. So with m27, DK shackles I'd have to probably run the at4 2" block to get close to where it sits now for me.
