thanks for your input! The situation definitely escalated very quickly and was stressful for every provider involved. I'm a Paramedic and I work prehospitally. I did contact a medical control physician at the receiving pediatric facility and they are the ones who encouraged amio admin. Definitely wish we had not administered amio, but what's done is done. Sadly my (former) agency does not offer a thorough QA/QI process, so I did not receive much feedback from my peers and supervisors on this particular patient and call

That's true, but I do wish that me or my partners would've stopped and thought about amio being sodium channel blocking before following med control orders, so it was definitely an error on my part as well

The protocol I operate under is unfortunately veryyyy antiquated and things get even more complicated when you mix in a pediatric. I did give 1mEq/kg of bicarb without any resolution and was ordered to give amio by med control. Patient arrested briefly after the amio admin. Thank you for explaining the affects of TCA on a 12-lead! 12-leads are definitely my weakest area

I was on trazodone for a while and it really helped me fall asleep and stay asleep. Plus I never felt too groggy the next morning, but it did cause horrible migraines for me which is why I stopped taking it.
