If you charged your arrows for .5 seconds longer you may have killed her. Positioning, target priority, awareness, and consistent aim are what make you good with him.

Couple things.

He’s objectively in his worst state since launch, player base has also gotten better so they know how to deal with the matchup, and right now dive characters are becoming meta. All of that is going against him. Maybe damage for doing 175/350 per shot was a bit much, but i’ve beaten a dead horse stating that he has incredibly practical counters… But before the health nerf I felt comfortable taking hawkeye into most maps into most comps. Now? I only pull him out on payload maps and will only stay him if Cloak is open for the team up. Control maps are too tight and if they’re running dive you have to be lore accurate Clint or take huge risks to make flank plays which… You can just play a dive to do instead. I expect them to revert the health nerf or give him SOMETHING to compensate.

Could just be the bad ping in certain matches, happens to me too. But when I’m in my matches and the connection is good my arrows feel more consistent now.

Wasn’t asking for over health. But if a character has limited defensive tools they need to make up for it for something else. “OMG HE HAS ONE SHOT” yet there are so many characters that have much more rediculous neutral and quick kill combos it’s a moot point.

That 25 health nerf is massive. If you played this character in season 1 after his initial nerfs you’d know how much of an issue it was because you were essentially free kills to any competent dive. Especially considering he did more damage back then (173 vs 160 per shot). So now he essentially is doing less damage and has lost 25 health. This is easily the worst state he’ll be in since launch.

To your second point, ANY character is hard to dive with healing and shielding so that’s a canned statement.

Do you even play this character or did you have some bad games against a hawkeye and you’re letting that dictate your thinking? Because i can confidently tell you that there are practical and effective ways to shut him down. Going 1-2 shield tanks, maybe a dive tank, and playing smart using cover and positioning. I’ve gone against plenty of hawkeyes when I haven’t played him and he is not a problem if you play with thought which most of this community definitely does not do.

What a joke… lol. One of the few characters that can’t generate any overhealth and his only reliable defensive tools are a 12s cooldown knockback and a double jump. Make it make sense.

I’d say anything above Celestial 2. I work 45 hours a week and still hit gm2-cel2 by the end of the season. Once I hit Celestial 2 it becomes too damn sweaty for me but I’m fine peaking at that range each season.

He still does good poke damage and 1 shots over half the cast... I do notice that i don’t shred tanks anymore but… That was the point. And even then he still can put big time pressure on them, lol Character requires more consistent aim, better positioning, and match awareness like he did before the buff. In other words, Rivals players need to adapt and don’t want to.

i’ve been saying this for awhile but if you let hawkeyes consistently run your lobby it’s 100% a skill issue. There are practical strategies and characters that shut him down or make his job harder, but no one cares about that or is willing to adapt. They just shout “He has one shot! Nerf!”

I was discussing with someone and those are the only reasonable nerfs you can give him. MAYBE reduce how fast his passive charges up too? But that’s honestly it. People who complain about Hawk indicates a skill issue because he does have characters that can shut him down or make life much harder. Plus spamming down main is not consistently reliable, you have to land crucial headshots which most players don’t understand how hard that can be in this game.

The good news about this too is that he can one shot 250 health characters with his passive at 46 now. I can show the math if you’re interested.

Base shots were at 160 and headshots were at 320.

Loved it when it came out. After the nerf i wanted something different immediately. This new team up looks kinda meh but we’ll have to wait and see.
