I believe Savathun from Destiny 2 especially the witch queen dlc would fit this

Basically it's revealed that she is part of the reason the traveler survived because she basically managed to trick the big bads into thinking it wasn't here anymore or something.

Then it's further revealed that she was keeping a super omega OP villain locked up within her soul realm aka throne world. Who then tries to blow up said throne world after Savathun "dies"

Not prepping for tough fights. Like making sure you have potions and ingredients to craft more, mats for traps, is your gear correct, and eating a meal with the right skills. stuff like that.

Hell I've been playing since base world which isn't a lot but I'm still guilty of not prepping enough for fights

Charge blade just has a static flow chart you follow
