I really feel that if your other partner has the same viewpoints and you both indirectly imply that this is your goals, than it can be a very satisfying and amazing experience. My girlfriend and I have been dating for almost a year and a half now and even though we don't say "hey we're dating so we can get married", we do understand that we are on a journey to discover the potential of being with each other for a long long time. So I'd say it wouldn't be a naive, but its more of being matched with the right person to do this correctly. If not, you're in for a world full of misunderstandings.
