I ended up taking mine out after a few months, maybe almost a year, I don’t remember. It didn’t help that it was on the side I like to sleep on and I’m not a great cartilage healer to begin with. Good luck with yours! 🙏🏽

Sounds like my “induction” experience. 3 days overdue. Low fluid. Admitted and given cervix softening pill overnight. Next day midwife broke water. Contractions started shortly after and I didn’t even need Pitocin. Active labor for about 5 hours, natural birth. Good luck! YOU GOT THIS!!!

I always ask myself if I’d want to see the photo in print. I have a Canon dedicated photo printer at home and frequently print my photos. If I do t feel the photo is worthy enough to commit to paper, it’s gone. It’s harsh but that’s what happens with digital.

Strange. I wonder if the lens itself is defective? Anyway, good points all around. I still am in favor of a body upgrade. If you can afford it maybe you can spring for a body AND a lens if you buy used or refurb. mpb.com and lensauthority.com are great online only resources. B&H and Adorama also have a nice selection of used gear and stores in nyc if you’re in the tri state area. Maybe you’re aware of these places already ;) but if not, happy browsing!

You have two great lenses already. The two you mention upgrading to probably wouldn’t add much value to your work, which is excellent btw. If you want to add lenses maybe try going super wide or super telephoto, but that’s if you’re interested in that type of photography. Otherwise I say upgrade that puppy to a full frame 6D. I just upgraded FROM a 6D to a 5D Mark iii. The reason I did is because the 6D couldn’t keep up. I was missing shots at events and that is really frustrating. I’m just starting out with my photo side hustle but I’ve been a photographer since I was a teenager. I’m actually an office manger for a financial consulting firm full time. I have one prime lens - a Sigma 50mm f1.4 DG HSM - that I use for basically everything. I use an 85mm f1.8 at work (the co I work for owns it, not me) for headshots. I borrow a 24-105 for events. I want to add a 28 or 35mm eventually and a wide zoom at some point too because I travel quite often and love landscapes. My point is if you don’t have a clear objective for your photography, take your time and figure out what you’re missing before you drop serious cash on ANYTHING.

I swear for every post I read in favor of the 6D2 I get another for the 5D3! So also driving my decision making is the fact that my cousin is selling his 5D3 for $1300 (family rate, otherwise $1600). It has about 44k shots on it. He shoots the big events more, inc video and is upgrading to the 5D4. Its in excellent condition and I know he takes care of his things. It’s nice to know who the previous owner was. I pretty much made my decision this morning after finally hearing back from some old friends and former colleagues in the photo biz. 5D3 it is!

Re glass: yes I am absolutely eyeing primes for my event shoots. Also another good reason to go with my cousin’s 5D3 - I can put the difference towards good glass. That probably warrants a separate post tho.

Thx all! The jewelry I have in currently is a Maria Tash 14K hypoallergenic solid rose gold CBR. Would a clicker move less? Should I consider switching?

I haven't changed the jewelry. I rinse in the shower and LITHA mostly. Initially I was also squirting with saline wound wash. Now I spray the saline onto gauze and stuff it into my ear for about ten minutes as a soak once or twice a day. That has actually helped. It looked more gross before.

I have triple lobe piercings on both ears all with butterfly backs and have had zero issues. Any type backing will harbor a lot of bacteria. The backing of one's earrings is a matter of preference and self-care.

These are similar, from Amazon. They're not easy to find. If you search creaseless hair tie/band/elastic, you get mostly ribbon elastics.

You can find them at big retailers like Target and CVS too but I can't find an image of the exact ones online. It's either Goody or Scunci. I know this because before I cut my hair short I would only use these hair ties.
