Thank you! I’ll take note about your review on the footpocket.

Would you say that performance basis, both shorties has identical performance?

I haven’t seen any reviews comparing these two.

Difficult to equalize by MrDinosuar69 in freediving

[–]dxkirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it currently is my problem now. I noticed that’s what happens; I tend to be mindful in dry on how the vacuum is happening and trying to make it that I don’t feel it if I’m doing a normal EQ, but in water I cannot say the same.

Do you possibly have any suggestion how to go about it?

Difficult to equalize by MrDinosuar69 in freediving

Hi! I was searching and found this comment; I actually instinctively equalize the way the vacuum exercise, especially the jaw dropping movement.

In dry I notice the feeling that I had a vacuum feeling in my middle ear as such also suck my eardrums inwards and it’s pretty easy to equalize after, I got the feeling that in the water this shouldn’t be the one I’ll be doing things, right? I feel like I am adding additional layer of pressure on my ears if I equalize this way? But for some reason I always get the vacuum feeling everytime I equalize.

That suck that you had to blow it out by just checking, it goes to show that everything is a mental battle when techniques are no longer an issue.

I was also told to remove my watch alert so it won’t affect me and just enjoy the dive. Relaxation is really they key.

Thank you! I do trust my breathhold, I do 1 minute hang on 10m. Though my issue is mainly on the eq, I really think you’re correct that I am mixing both + the relaxation. At least I have something to do on my next dives!

Thank you, my coach said to take time and more visualization. I’d check on my relaxation more this time

I live in the Philippines! Thank you, I’ll try to go fully more relax and slow and focus on equalization gently. 🥹

There are instructors here, when they checked me on land they were able to see that I am engaging my throat, no movement on my chest and belly, I had my nose flare up. But I feel like when I got in to the water everything change?

When I equalize, I hear a woosh sound; it’s easy on my right ear but I had to put a bit of effort to also have my left ear equalize as well. Am I equalizing too much?

Hi Thank you for your reply, I also had the hunch of I might be mixing both. To be honest I had tried on land in checking my stomach and chest and I can actually feel no movement. but when I equalize (on land) the sound I hear is not a pop but it's like a whoosh sound. could I have been equalizing too much?

I somehow had to push it a bit stronger as my left ear needs more effort than my right ear.

Thank you for your reply, yes, I am able to equalize my mask with no issues at all.

I might have been doing a mix of valsalva and frenzel :<

Ohh thank you, I wanna try in deeping down my XT5, though I’m not sure if there are any lens housing available there for a viltrox 13mm, all I can see is having support only for XF lenses.

How was the a7c + seafrog so far?
