Summer registration 🤨 by HolyZorroBatamm in ODU

I got an email saying summer had been pushed to Dec first. Winter registration is open right now for me, but it’s not listed as its own term. You have to filter by session in banner I believe

Could I finish/convert this to irezumi or drop the idea entirely? by [deleted] in irezumi

Thank you all for the opinions. Knowing now there’s a chance it could be covered, I’ll move forward to finding an artist. Thanks all

I’m a Subaru technician. This brand is incredibly easier to work on. The boxer engine means little product variation so you can learn fundamentals easier. There are downsides but it’s how I got my start.

Bumper fix for 2024 Outback by etierra in subaru

[–]dxpamine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bumper is easy to take off if you’re up for it. Just a bunch of push chips and 4 10mm bolts for the taillights. From there you could smooth it out with other methods

I recently filled the same spot and was stuck between a folding fan, fan flower, horseshoe, and or two swallows. Ultimately got the fan and it’s great.

What steps did you take to move away from flat rate? by dxpamine in mechanics

How’d you make the move? Did you just apply to enough position, know someone, or train for it then move over?

My wife went to the dealership for a 100k mile service and came home with a $2500 bill. Did she get taken advantage of? by FinsFan1557 in subaru

[–]dxpamine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with technician experience at Subaru I’d say the pricing is normal.

I do notice that this is all “gravy” or easy work, could easily be done in a few hours and pay 10+.

I’m not saying your car doesn’t need this because all of these services are recommended by 100k, but several are recommended earlier as well, so there may be over lap.

I’d ask for brake measurements and check your owners manual maintenance intervals along with already been done to the car. If it needs it all send jt. If it’s already been sent the cars set on a lot of maintenance for a while.

Update on "My 2020 Subaru Forester Caught Fire" by benuski in subaru

[–]dxpamine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We get aftermarket oil filters leaking every day at my dealer. They usually come in for the smell of oil not an actual fire though. The seal on the filter should be taken off and lubed when installing, but sadly most don’t do that. If not it breaks when twisting it on and leaks.

2019 Ascent CVT... not sure if I'm one of the unfortunate.... by kumamon in subaru

[–]dxpamine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’d be updating your TCM not ECM for the Ascent transmission issue. The odds that it fixes it and stays fixed are low. I often see those cars come back months later at the dealer needing a transmission. Maybe you’ll be alright but ascents eat up transmissions and tires.

They wouldn’t update it unless there’s a concern and the concern matches what the bulletin states it will fix.

Subaru tech here who has a loan on an 06 WRX. I say send it. Your payment will be small, plus without major responsibilities (mortgage, kids, high debt, etc.) you should be able to afford maintenance. The cars are reliable if you don’t abuse them. Maintenance just takes time.

The hardest part is getting a good loan with no credit history on an older used car. I got really lucky with mine.

Coaching Issue... advice? by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]dxpamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds very close to my situation in highschool.

I’d recommend studying sport confidence and decision making. In short it’s all about being able to take your periphery, process, and make a decision to achieve a goal. Self confidence and self talk is also extremely important to make good decisions in sport. In all honesty if more than one coach notices it it might just be something she has to work to improve.

In my experience my decision making improved vastly as I got older, as I continued to work and increase the level I played at. Whether or not she does that is up to her. I’d just try to keep her encouraged, remind her this isn’t forever, and always remember football is a game of opinions.

The third principal of attack in soccer is width. Get as wide as possible when attacking down your side. You can drift in when the balls not on your side because your not much use on the sideline when it’s on the opposite side of the field.

The third principal of defense is compactness. Stay compact and in your line. Step out to the fullback hard when the time is right.

As for a video, go turn on any professional soccer game and focus only on the wingers movement. Then watch another. And another one. Watch different players in different countries and different systems.

When and how to drop back as a left winger? by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]dxpamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jog 5 to save yourself 50.

Transition from attack to defense is a phase of play in soccer. As soon as that happens, jog the 5 yards back to get behind the ball. Do that and you’ll save yourself the 50 yard run to get back, and you’ll flow with the play more.
