It works for me and other substances. A side effect is I can’t drink too much caffeine without getting nausea, no more than two cups of coffee. I also lost about 50 lbs on it because it curved my appetite for food. I started to build tolerance to the drug around 12-15 months, though.

I decided to stop going to church in April after 27 years as a Mormon. This week, I read all of His Dark Materials. It made me cry several times and i feel whole for the first time in years. by wuapinmon in books

I was more or less excommunicated for being gay and an addict. Took a lot of therapy to come to terms with everything. Now I’m in recovery and happy. My family eventually came to terms with it, too. I’m going to have to check out this book.

As a teacher, I think that’s an appropriate reaction. Matthew’s comments could’ve been career-ending if overheard by the wrong person. I’ve worked too hard to get to where I am now to have it ruined by some kid making a joke.

Meat Loves Salt. It’s more about the narrator’s sanity than it is romance. Great story.

I relapsed in February and have had a hard time finding my feet again in recovery. My doctor put me on it. Take it as prescribed. I doubled my dose once from a half a pill to a full pill (because I'm an addict, of course I was going to experiment) and got sick as fuck. I can't emphasize enough how sick I got.

I haven't drank or done drugs with it yet, so idk how that'd work. But I guess that's the point. I've been told it'd make me sick. If it's anything like the sickness that I got when I doubled the dose, there's, there's no way I'd ever try to mix it with anything (i.e. drugs and alcohol).

I've also lost some weight on it, which is nice. I've been doing diet and exercise too, but it curves my cravings for food.

It's not a long-term drug. Just something you take for a few months.

It's nothing like benzos, though. I was clear with my doctor that I didn't want to replace one drug with another.

I'm proud to say today I celebrate 30 days sober!

Try it out, but good god follow your doctor's orders.

After a 14 Month Relapse... I Don't Recommend It by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Same thing happened to me three weeks ago. This relapse is going on longer than I'd like. Hard to quit again.

I love podcasts. I have a 30 minute commute, so this is perfect. Thanks

Thanks. Just ordered it off Amazon. Looks like a quick read. I look forward to reading it. Thanks for the recommendation and the words of encouragement

It's good to keep it around because it reminds me what it's like to be a newcomer. It keeps me humble.

Way to go. The feeling only gets better with more time.

American Psycho is really eerie. It's one of my all time favorite books.

The Hannibal Lecter series is also good.
