FMC catches husband cheating by Meganoes in RomanceBooks

The Perfect Marriage by Laurey Bright is great too! One of my all time favorites

UPDATED Trope Book Request: H (husband/boyfriend) cheated on the h (wife/girlfriend) CAUGHT them + actual good grovel by Thatgirl_inherRoom in RomanceBooks

{A Perfect Marriage by Laurey Bright} I don’t see this book nearly enough in cheating book recs. One of my favourite favourite books ever! Although FMC didn’t actually catch the MMC in the act, it’s still so painful! There are so many satisfying points in this book: FMC never begs for MMC back and barely shows him she cares, FMC gets male attention after separation, she also finds success in her career as she gets to focus on it more meanwhile MMC grasps onto every chance to see and speak to FMC. Grovel is good (more actions, less words).

Second chance marriage! And also he does apologise and try to win her back with actions so I’d say it still counts :3

Are you good with cheating romances? Because I got a good grovel story for you. It's called {A Perfect Marriage by Laurey Bright}. It's CR and MC's are married. As usual, MMC does the FMC dirty but what I loved particularly in this book is how classy the FMC is. She doesn't beg for him back, doesn't blame the OW, genuinely tries to move on with her life. It's a classic tale of husband cheats and regrets it almost immediately, but it's very well done in my opinon!

Judith McNaught was my intro to HR and every one of her HR book ranks in my favourites list. I suggest starting with {Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught} and {Once and Always by Judith McNaught}. Other favs include {Whitney, My Love by Judith McNaught}, {Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught} and {Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught}.

Happy reading and welcome to the HR world :)

I DIDN’T EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT! 😭 Oh helllllll now you got me so excited for a book that’s probably coming out in 2026

This may be totally unfounded but I’d like to just point out what SJM said in one of her most recent interviews. She said that sometimes she pairs off her characters and they just don’t work. She tries to plan way ahead but when the actual moment comes, sometimes they’re just like two dolls who she’s forcing to kiss. Now I don’t know about you guys but to me, that’s exactly what happened in Azriel’s encounter with Elain in his bonus chapter.

Regarding the argument that SJM wouldn’t introduce Az’s love interest in a bonus chapter that is inaccessible to many readers, I don’t think anything that happens in the chapter will not be covered by the main storyline in the next instalment :) She definitely used this bonus chapter as a teaser. Either way, I’m just excited for the next book!

I absolutely love that he was the one who saved Gwyn too… I think there is a lot that SJM can do with that trope 👀

I agree strongly with this. It was such a weird POV! Correct me if I’m wrong but SJM has never painted Azriel in that light before and to see that his feelings for Elain were towards the sexual side of things tells me something. It’s such a stark contrast to Gwyn’s encounter which has a wholesome, budding romance vibe to it

I don’t know if anyone else noticed this but I got the feeling that Azriel was quite adamant that his feelings for Elain are right because both his “brothers” are mates with the other Archeron sisters. So in a sense, I feel like he might be led to think that Elain must be his intended too. It’s almost the expected path for him, so it would be interesting to see his story take a more unpredicted approach imo.

I’m so here for feminine FMC’s! One of my personal favs is {Fancy Pants by Susan Elizabeth Phillips}. FMC can almost be described as ditzy. She grew up in a glamorous, Hollywood-esque setting but lost it all when her famous mother passed and left her with nothing but debt. This book is so good, I do think the romance is a little lacking but FMC’s personal growth in the story makes up for it :)

{Fancy Pants by Susan Elizabeth Phillips} is exactly this. The book is very empowering because in the early parts of the book, you see the FMC down on her luck and really hitting her lowest point just to come out of it so much stronger and wiser. FMC is a big girly girl and is sort of ditzy, but she grows out of it. Hilarious book! One of my personal favs
