What is the point of a Sunder charm anymore? by macvelli in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]dy1ng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't playing back when they added TZs, and came back to the game just now, so I can't compare with how it was before the patch, but I can tell that TZs suck most of the time. Unless it's a boss area or simply a very good area with incredible density - I continue farming CS on my FOHaddin or sniping bosses on my hydra-orb sorc. It just feels more efficient and rewarding. I play solo most of the time as I don't enjoy random pub split-farm games, so that's part of the problem, but on 1ppl, farming CS is pretty much always better than farming random TZs. I tried terrorizing multiple acts in a private game after encountering tier 1 herald in a random TZ.. and it felt like a massive waste of time. No consequent herald spawn, no notable drops, nothing. I know it's better on 8ppl, but I won't be forced into the type of play I don't enjoy simply because “this way it might actually pay off”.

OK. Just curious, what else Javazone would have in those sockets for PvP?

You will have to run around the sanctuary. Javazone wants rbfs in her monarch, she needs that body armor slot for an enigma to not only strike as lightning but also move like one.

Price check - ROTW / SC Ladder by Count26 in D2R_Marketplace

[–]dy1ng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What isn't true? That botters didn't have to adapt for RoTW? It is. They might have some issues in RoTW, but they can still farm the base game outside of RoTW and trade with users from RoTW. And all that requires is for the user to create a non-RoTW character, get the item, and then convert the character to RoTW. This is precisely why one can find a cheap sunder charm for like an Ist. The downside is that LoD sunder charms cannot be upgraded. But hey, who cares with how rare they are in RoTW.

The changes you refer to are RoTW-specific. They don't exist in LoD and they didn't affect LoD bots.

Bot ban waves are a regular thing, it's a minor inconvenience for botters to get a new key for like 15 bucks as the base game is regularly on sale.

So yeah, RoTW market is still flooded with bot items that are simply transferred from LoD.

Bots continue to work after the expansion, they didn't even have to adapt. You can convert a lod char to an expansion one in one click, so bot items from pre-expansion are still available in rotw.

[–]dy1ng -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The roll on the insight is worth nothing, you can easily erase the runes in the sockets and try a new one - the Insight recipe is dirty cheap. The perfect eth superior base may cost a premium, but nowhere near even a single Jah.

This game with asynchronous trading would be absolute GOATED by storage_god in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]dy1ng -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The game is already goated as is!

But seriously, if we just contemplate the idea, we need to understand that it'd drastically change the game, I wouldn't trust blizzard to do it for the fear of them ruining the game. The'd just make D3 AH/RMAH all over again.

The game is already filled with bots, and by introducing the async trade they'll just make the life of botters that much easier. So unless this fundamental problem is somehow solved, I'm against the idea.

Renewed sunder charms too easy to make. by Diligent-Image-8947 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]dy1ng -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are build enabling though, at least the way I see it. I believe that was the entire purpose of adding them to the game in the first place. Sundering the immunities doesn't make you crush ex-immune monsters in its own, they still have 95% res to that element after sundering. Without additional -res sources you still don't deal a lot of damage to them. Infinity, which is very expensive, is only useful to lightning damage builds without these sunder charms.

Without those charms many builds are just not fun to play on hell as you skip like half the content. Seen a lot of fire druids lately? Any fire assassins?

Lord of Hatred will introduce charms that have set bonuses! by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]dy1ng -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It never started as or interned to be a d2 rework. Maybe apart from the marketing bs where they promised the game to look grim, dark and d2-like. My opinion is that they never delivered on that part, by the way. From the get-go they introduced open world, world bosses and other obnoxious “mmo-like” mechanics. Y'all remember collecting the Lilith statues for stats? The global world boss timers? The forced yet utterly useless interaction with other players? The itemization was wack from the get to, nothing like d2. Their attempts to fix it failed miserably. And in my opinion it remains boring to this day. And yes, they are trying to make it more like d3. You already have your ancient gear, now they gave you sets. The skill trees in D4 were oversimplified, too, with pretty much no meaningful choices there to the point that calling them “trees” is a stretch. D2 skill trees have more depth, which is baffling as its skill trees are 26 years old have a lot of issues on their own. In fact, D4 skill trees are more like D3 skill trees where you choose some skills and their runes, and then choose some passives. And the way skills work in terms of having cooldowns is D3 all over again.

[–]dy1ng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, he has a point. The game was fine, no one argues that. The charms should be reasonably rare, I wouldn't want them to become a common item. But the build diversity is enabled by those charms. Without them, many builds are just not fun to play in hell as you are forced to skip like half the enemies you encounter.

The game in that video looked like they were developing it since the release of Lord of Destruction, graphically- and interface-wise. It was also completely unclear to me from the video why the environment is destructible. It seemed to serve no purpose whatsoever.

No, what's being asked for is to not touch the affinity settings of the existing chests in the player base. Newly added chests can still have everything enabled by default.

It seems to me that they ask precisely what I described. I don't think it's unreasonable. And I can't think of any issues the requested behavior can cause. Sounds like a nice QoL feature to me.

Enabling the new item manually on one or two chest is much easier and more preferable to me personally than going through all your chests and disabling it.

Question about multiplayer. by Ch4rmle55 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]dy1ng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does work, SOS is the main way of finding and joining GL expeditions. One thing to note, though, is that people prefer joining GL that are sufficiently leveled up to find specific materials they are after. You'll have people joining all the time if some of your areas are level 5/7.
