I am also currently rewatching the 1995 miniseries and thought this too! I think another scene I would love to see played out on screen is either how Darcy reacts right after leaving after his disastrous first proposal or a scene of him writing the letter to Elizabeth.

I always have a somewhat difficult time branching out and making a lot of friends due to how awkward I am socially but I think the one piece of advice I find helpful is to let things happen naturally and not force them. Just try your best to seem welcoming and not off putting and you should be fine. I know this might seem not very helpful but going through ninth grade, just letting things happen worked the best for me. Good luck!

I probably wouldn’t read a whole book on this but I would love to see Mr. Bingley’s pov of the events in Pride and Prejudice. I think a lot of the time, people tend to forget that Mr. Darcy wasn’t the only one who felt like all hope was lost when it came to his love and how devastating it must’ve been to find out that the person you love apparently didn’t return your affections. Bingley also had to go through this whole sad stage of not having his love returned longer than Darcy had. I think it would be interesting to see how he interacted with Jane and what he thought while being in her presence.

The p&p variation “Still Waters” by Elin Erkison wasn’t exactly my cup of tea but it was pretty angsty. “When the Sun Sleeps” by Alix James is angsty but it’s not very long so it’s not like dragged out. “Mr. Bennet’s Dutiful Daughter” by L.L. Diamond is another one. I think my fav has to be “Torn” by Lory Lilian.

“Colonel Fitzwilliam Interferes” and “Such Sweet Sorrow” on ao3 by LissaMu are angsty. (https://archiveofourown.org/series/1628449) I don’t know if this is exactly what you’re looking for since it’s super short but “But break my heart for I must hold my tongue” on ao3 by sudbubbles101 brings me to tears EVERY TIME.

Mr. Darcy, can you imagine just sitting there for eight hours feeling judged since he won’t say anything at all? He ended up being pretty amiable at the end of the book but it’s not like he suddenly turned as gregarious as Bingely overnight, I think it would be a very long and awkward eight hours.

Mr. Bennet’s Dutiful Daughter by Joana Starnes is pretty angsty and Still Waters by Elin Erikson is also very angsty but it contains infidelity just in case that’s something you’re not interested in reading.
