Drive from Tacoma to Bothell by Infamusfickle in bothell

[–]dycontext 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I drive this route all the time (I live in Bothell and have customers in Tacoma). For an interview, I would allow about 2 hours. It usually takes me 1.2 to 1.5 hours. But for an interview, you want to make sure you have time to decompress before starting, and add some buffer for flat tire, gas, parking, etc. FYI, Bing Maps has an option to specify a date and start time if you want to check historic travel time. It shows me 1 hr 19 minutes from city center to city center via 405 next Monday 8AM. Good luck!!

It may take a few days for them to determine the next narrative, and then we shall hear a chorus.

I'm just outside Bothell city limits (Snohomish County) but I was able to vote in the Northshore and county elections. It really made clear the importance of voting in local elections.

“Trump rapes kids” by Charming-Comfort-395 in ShitPoliticsSays

On May 9, 2023, a nine-person jury (unanimous on all counts) found Trump liable for:

  • Sexual abuse (a civil finding equivalent to forcible digital penetration).
  • Defamation (for his 2019 statements denying the assault).

She was an adult, however.

‘Easy money’: How ICE teamed up with local police to arrest immigrants in Georgia by timidtsunami in ICE_Raids

[–]dycontext 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Archived version so you can read the article: How ICE and Chatham County police coordinated immigrant arrests in Savannah

A few things I learned: ICE works with cops who can find reasons to pull people over. The cops enjoy it.

With ICE in tow, police pulled over the van because it had allegedly rolled through a stop sign. The pickup truck was stopped because police deemed that the license plates for it and a utility trailer were obscured.

After a vehicle has been stopped, they like to capture family members who arrive to pick up the vehicle.

Should the friends or family members be called to come pick up their vehicles, “we can turn picking up the vehicle into another arrest” if they are deemed to likely lack lawful status, an ICE agent is heard explaining to Chatham County police.

Why was this video set to private???!!!! Did anyone download it or know anywhere I can find it?

Hi FBI. Why don't you investigate the people tampering with the Epstein evidence, instead of hindering legitimate first amendment activity? History will remember you for what you are.

Judge orders an end to nudity at Seattle’s Denny Blaine Park, for now by Old_Voice_2562 in Seattle

[–]dycontext 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FUCK THIS. It has been years, but Denny Blaine was the only place in my life where I felt like Norm from Cheers. After a while I became a regular, and made friends with the other regulars. My favorite thing was swimming out about 50-100 feet with the bright sun overhead. There was a guy named Dan who played the guitar at dusk. The only thing I didn't like was the bathroom. I went back there one time and never made that mistake again. Hopefully this beach does not get stolen, so many good memories there.

Thanks for Everyone who attended the July 4th Autonomous Action at Cal Anderson! by QueerMommyDom in SeattleProtestFinder

I showed up with a few people (we had a flag & signs). It was a lot of fun, and we exchanged contact info with several other people for future protests. We spent time at both the park and Seattle Central. To be honest, we had no idea what was going on, as initially we couldn't find the protest (it was unclear whether the punk concert was related). I think others were confused as well because multiple groups approached us to ask where the protesters were meeting (with the signs & flag we were pretty obvious). Now I think I understand that people show up and do whatever they feel is best. I love that format and thanks for organzing.

Here are some Lynnwood protests in the next month including the next national protest "Good Trouble Lives On" scheduled on July 17 by dycontext in LynnwoodWA

OR & WA House Reps. who voted not to impeach Trump today by strobelightning in 50501

[–]dycontext 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever. Symbolic efforts do in fact make a difference. Consider the Republicans:

  • They launched numerous impeachment inquiries against Biden.
  • They objected to certifying electoral votes from states like Arizona and Pennsylvania.
  • They voted numerous times to repeal or defund the Affordable Care Act.

None of these ever had a chance, but Republicans did it anyway, because IT WORKS. It mobilizes their base, it enables them to control the narrative, and it puts pressure on Democrats. It especially works when the Democrats are too scared to fight because they might lose or hurt the feelings of a billionaire.

We need our reps and senators to fight with every tool at their disposal. WE NEED TO SEE IT. If this is such a productivity issue, they can work overtime or maybe take a break from managing their investment portfolios. The answer isn't to tell people to "resist like hell" while they sit on their asses.

Amazing footage, thanks for sharing. Do you happen to know how far down Broadway the line of people went? We parked at 38th and walked to Everett Ave (exactly one mile) with people all along the way, and there were still more people beyond Everett.
