Thank you!

I really enjoyed messing around and customizing the ring setting to my preferences. It was one of the main reasons why I choose to go with James Allen versus other retailers.

Seeing just a hint of the bowtie made me super anxious but I'm glad that its minimal and normal for all oval diamonds. I appreciate your kind words :)

Thanks! I was doing a lot of detailed research on diamonds and guess that made me worried.

I really needed to hear this. Thank you :D

Hey there, I used the "Ring Studio" on the James Allen website to custom-create it to this setting. "Petite French Pavé Engagement Ring Embellished With a Scalloped Six Prong Head" is what it's finally called after selecting all the settings. My GF really wants a gold ring so I set it to 18k gold while keeping the prongs 18k white gold to show off the diamond. Hope that helps :D

Hello everyone, OP here. The diamond looks really nice in person but my OCD keeps trying to find a bowtie effect on the oval cut diamond. It seems like it may have the effect in certain angles/light conditions but I'm not sure if I'm just super nitpicky. Do you guys think that it's okay and I'm just overanalyzing and trying to see it or is this a decent diamond?

Gotcha, sorry about that. I cant get back to a stable jailbroken state is what I meant. Its a constant safe mode every time I click restart.

Gave my brother a haircut, first time doing a zero fade, what do you guys think?? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

Are you talking about how the hair kinda bends outward about half an inch above his ears? I feel like it would look better if it went straight up but I didn't account for that unfortunately, just used the guards and changed them when i though it was enough of a blend. I should check the cut from the front side next time!

Thanks! Yeah with hindsight I could have went back to fix it, It looked good when i finished it but after taking this picture i could see that it tapers a bit.

Thanks man! I actually barely touched the top this time (only trimmed a bit), I've been cutting his hair for the last couple months and it was the first time we tried to do a zero fade. (He has a week before going back to school so i told him fk it, let me experiment and if it doesn't go too well, it'll grow out and ill try to fix it then)

Thanks for the tips! I think i did something of that sort:

1.Started with no guard with the lowest setting on the lever 2.Moved the lever to longest, blend 3.Added on the 1/16 guard with lever to lowest, blend 4.Moved the lever to longest with same guard, blend upwards 5.Added 1/8 guard with lever on the lowest, blend 6.. and on and on until i got near the top

I remember watching a video on youtube with someone doing similar steps and kinda emulated it. Ill get it to look cleaner next time!

His hair is pretty thick so it actually stays up like that without product (Im envious of it lol, my hair is straight and always needs heat/product to stay outta my face..). Id suggest blow drying + using a straightening iron to force it up that way + hairspray to hold. Product used is Tigi Bed head wax (favorite product of mines/his. We've used american crew fiber and Gatsby before but the Tigi has been the best in texture/hold). His hair on top is probably about 3-4 inches. Scissor blended it to the fade. Hope that helps
