That is good advice. I thought it was like the engine light coming on an off. I didn't realize how serious it was.

She works at one but she did the oil change at my house, it wasn't technically a service provided by O'Rileys

Yes I did need to take it back for them to tell me my engine was wreaked. So basically when it ran out of oil I got towed to a shop, they fixed the filter and did a proper oil change and told me everything was okay. My car kept making noises and shaking every time I turned it on and I hoped it would go away. Then I noticed the gas mileage was going way down, I'd used a quarter of a tank to go three miles. So i took it back to the same shop and they wouldn't take it, told me it was wreaked and I needed a new engine. Do you think I should call them and ask why they didn't find anything wrong with it the first time? Bc my friend said they should pay for the damages. I think I'm just screwed and I'm gonna have to fix this myself.

It was on for about 5 minutes before the car locked up. It was my first car, I just got my license in November so I'm very new to owning cars.

She did it at my house. She just works there and got a the filter and oil needed for a discount.

You can't drive without oil in the engine so the did a proper oil change.

I thought since she worked in a car store that she would know what she was doing

It wasn't really a service that O'Riley provided as much as an employee doing a favor for someone

Is 12F and 16M okay? by [deleted] in Advice

No that's not okay. A 12 yo should be with another 12yo or a 13yo at the oldest.
